Online training session July 5th
« on: June 19, 2005, 04:19:46 pm »
To all pilots,

On july 5th we will have an online training session at our Training Hub Manchester. Different topics can be handled at this training. I however would like to get an idea up front what kind of training you want.  The idea is that there will be some personal trainers present that will help you with the topic you want to train on while you talk to the real ATC. Exact details will follow but please post here the topic you are intrested in. You can think of SID's, HOLD's, STAR's etc..

Especially first timers are encouraged to join this session. Depending of the amount of personal trainers available 1st timers will have priority. More advanced topics like HOLD's will mostly be handled by the normal ATC's

I would like training on how to adjust a holding pattern to winds.

Because I hav found out that in the US you have to nail the inbnd leg and adjust the outbnd, but in the rest of the world you have to nail the outbnd leg and adjust the inbnd. Not5 sure though. But I dont have ha clue how to do this. Help would be appreciated. I just hope I can make the training:

Cyriel: the topic says july 5, but your post says june 5?

Razza we must have been typing at the same time! LOL. VORDME/NDB/LLZ approaches would be pretty high on my list too.

Hi,

Iain, I think that that time of procedure is already too advanced for this first training lesson.

This one is to pratice more standard procedures like the non precision approaches or SID and STAR's.

Also we are trying to get one pilot per instructor. We are trying to know how much pilots will we have there, so please anyone that will be there, please write it here.

Thanks,

As an addition to the above post I still would like to know the advanced topics as well. There are some ATC in the GB division that is present will be able to handle these advanced topics as well.  I just want the list here so I can get a feeling what to prepare for.

Hi Pilots,
i have successfull finished my first exam at IVAO it was a theoretical. But how works a practical exam? Could somebody explain me a little bit about this. Maybe this could be a point at onlinetraining.
regards Hardy

Hi,

Basically you do a small IFR flight and a small VFR flight following all the IVAO code rules ... I think.

Hey guys!

I have been working a lot for a month or so. I have finished my examinations and I am working in my parents' shop right now. I want to have an general idea about all basic procedures on a online flight.

I am not sure that I can be there for the training but I hope so.

Take care.

and to answer your question:

basically,u get clearence, readback, ask for taxi, hold at rwy, get clrd t/o, follow SID or get vectors, follow flight plan, you will be cleared to a certain way point, approach via STAR or get vectors, land, and then get clearence to shutdown,

thats the basics of an online flight, you may be asked to hold, or some other stuff, but hope that helped

Ok people so far it looks like 3 or 4 will attend. Nobody else is going to join. So far there is only 1 first timer as far as I can see. If any of you needs help getting IVAP installed or something please let me know. We can work out something via MSN.

More details can be found on the online training pages which you can access via the VFA division page.

I also would like to get a bit of a feeling how many people will be there, SO if you are going to attend please let me know here.
