Planes!
« on: March 14, 2006, 03:52:03 pm »
Hi there MT,

I was just hunting through the fleet after todays injection of new planes and noticed that we have 13 Boeing 777-200's available but only 11 Boeing 737-800's & 9 Airbus A320's. I was just wondering if there was any reason for this? Also I noticed that there seems to be a lot of planes registered in Greece and Sweden, although this may just be me. I was just wondering if there was a reason or if it was just the way that things have worked out! (For instance do you have a way of seeing which types of plane are most popular with our Pilots and therefore order more of these  when it comes to replace lost aircraft)

I must admit, it would be interesting to see some more stats from Propilot like what are the favourite planes, favourite destination / departure, average flight times. May be on a hub basis. Also a list of who has flown the most flights / hours. I know you guys are busy, so I don'texpect to see them, but it was just a suggestion as I'm interested.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hi,

Tim, don't be kidding, it's true ;D ..

About the stats, it's an excelent idea, so, we just need time to implement it.

Right now we are working in the KATL hub so we can open it as soon as possible. After that we will develop another exclusive feature for ProPilot, and we will also develop the new Training Academy ...

But we will handle it ;) ... As soon as we got some free time, we will implement it.

Regards and thank you for your suggestions, Phil.

I am sorry that I have not red this post yet. After so many crashes Bruno ask me time to time to create a new pack of airplanes to insert. This was the 3rd time and things are a bit messy now, we had so many crashed airplanes. That could cause some unbalanced number of aircrafts here and there.

Well, the original idea was to have 2 airplanes of each type at each HUB. At some types, like the B737 or the Embraer-120 it may differ because there were some extra airplanes in the fleet. I will make a check on the ProPilot fleet status and will try to balance the situation where needed.

Thank you.

Thanks Robert, I was just wondering if it was a random thing or if there was any reason. It's not that I think we need more planes, just one of those things I looked at whilst on a 3 hour flight and have a bit of time to kill! :)

cheers

Thanks Phil !

Well, the system is under investigation, because inserting new planes is a semi-automatic process and we found a possible bug in the past. At the beginning, the newly inserted planes appeared somehow on wrong HUBs, which caused unbalanced number of planes on the HUBs. To correct it now, we will insert as much new planes, as many needed to balance the levels. Although, on HUBs that have incorrectly too much airplanes now (like EHAM have 6 Beech-1900s now) we will not cut the current number of aircrafts. Pilots need to crash some planes ;) to decrease the level there to the normal. It means a huge number of new aircrafts to be added, and as the registration-ID generation is completely manual process we need some time to complete it. ;D

Thank you again, and sorry for the incoveniences.

We added another 160 aircraft to the fleet, so the airplane numbers are now synchronized among the HUBs. Also it will give you more opportunity to fly to different destinations.

Happy flying ! ;D
