Thanks for the links Murray. I have something similar. Currrently my PC has a total of 12 fans: 2 PSU, 1 CPU, 1 Northbridge, 1 Southbridge & 1 GPU. Then there is a total of 6 case fans for improving airflow. (Coolermaster Cases are great for that but its sounds like a CFM56 when you start it up) One of these case fans is directly above the Graphics card with a copper air duct to remove warm air from the PCI-E expansion slot area. I think the actual problem lies in the compound used on the original GPU fan. It apparently goes off over time and becomes less efficient thus there is nothing actually cooling the GPU as the chip is encased in a steel box used for mounting the fan..... I'll have a go at replacing the fan next weekend when I have some time and Overclockers UK are open so I can run in and buy a new Graphics card if it all goes pear shaped!!!! :)
