I\'m still flying!!
EHM-1442 Luis:
Hi,
I need some information :
1 - Required files - no problem with installation, because there are readme files inside the zip files. Except Afrique_Afcad_p2, that has a lot of text files. Where i must put them?Or this files are just information?
2 - In the airfield HCMM, i have duplicate rwys, it is one rwy and another above the first one. I see that because it doesn't match exactly.
3 – In Addis Ababba (HAAB) i open the fs with the aircraft on the active rwy, and it was placed on a cross position in the middle of the rwy.
Concerning the aircraft installation, no problem.I installed the EuroCargo and the new Euroharmony v4 MD-17 without problems, everything is working right. The plane's wheels touch the ground and the gauges are ok.
I did a few EHM World tour legs with this aircraft for practice, and i have see that:
1 - Is not possible to lock the clock (lock the chronometer), for visual approaches, it is very useful.
2 - I only obtain to take off after 150 on the speed display, with flaps at position 2. A problem on short grass rwys.
3 – After t/off, must be careful with the climb rate, it is easy to stall.
4 – On approaches if we cut the power much early, the airplane falls like a rock .
Summarizing, this goes to be the best and the more difficult event of all the times.
Do not fear the ProPilot, read about penalties, try to not crash, come on and have fun.
Congratulations to the management and good luck to everyone

Have downloaded the aircraft, will join in if i like it :)

That's the most important thing to remember my friends .... do a good long approach, come near the ground, about 500fpm on a stable altitude and speed, and at the end drop down the nose and reduce speed to land ...
Don't use it like the normal IFR approaches where you start the approach about 20nm from the airport and 8000ft on the air, it's complex to do this on visual landings on grass runways!
EHM-0948 Bruno:
Ok mates,
I decided to make the first leg to test it out. I will give you my tips to handle it correctly.
Ok, airborne already. I didn't took too much fuel, neither flown at a higher altitude. Just 8000ft. I suggest you do the same on this small legs.
Here already at cruising altitude and speed, taking some notes on my notebook.
First, you need to use the GPS as your VOR/NDB instrument. Basically you set the source and destination airport and choose Directy flight. Then, at airbone you choose DCT on your GPS and place the FNMQ airport so it can give you the relative bearing to the airport. This is very important in order to do a correct visual approach with an airplane like this one!
Ok here I am very close to the aerodrome. The runway is 07 - 25, so you need to do the most simple VFR approach:
1. You pass by the runway.
2. After you pass the runway you wait about 3 minutes before turning to right or left, parallel to the runway but on the oposite way!
3. You do a 180 turn to align with the runway, using the GPS bearing to FNMQ as aid.
Passing throw the runway here ...
Now I'm doing a right full 180 base and final leg for the approach ... notice that the BRG on the GPS is climbing to near 250 degrees for alignment ... (Rwy 25).
... and there I am, almost aligned with the runway on manual mode now.
On the final now, completely manual. Notice the airspeed...
Touching ground!
And stopped.
You can see that on the approach I was very close to the ground. That's the best way to approach and land this heavy airplane, is to avoid coming from high altitudes directly on the runway. It's very hard that way, so I strongly suggest this approach.
Regards,

I’m not a good pilot but I think its worthy if I try it, still download a file which required for this event
