EHM-1001 Robert:
Hi guys,
anybody of you know what kind of wine is it? Dry, sweet, etc... I need it for a special deer dish ;)
Amarone di Valpolicella
I found only Italian, Dutch and German topics about it, but neither language I know :P
Thank you in advance ;)
EHM-1798 Conrad:
Which year? I do know a fair bit about wines :)
EHM-1651 Christian:
Well i found some info about it in Norwegian and it says that it's recomended to deer and other meat, aswell as chees.
That is all the help I can provide
EHM-1001 Robert:
Who knows... isn't it simply a brandname, or maybe a company name ?
EHM-1703 Philip:
Robert are you sure it is not "Amarone Della Valpolicella"
This is a dry red wine suited to heavy foods like stews and goulash etc. There is a sweat wine from the same area available called Recioto della Valpolicella which is more easy drinking and suited to less heavy dishes. The Amarone is more acidic so it may well be suited to Deer or Venison.
Valpolicella is the growing Region, actually a small town in Northern Italy. There are many wines available from this area but the Amarone is widely tipped as the best by those who know wine!
Hope it helps,
