En route for the oasis
This special has several facets. The course is quite well-marked, with stony tracks at the beginning of the course; then the enthusiasts will be entitled to a dose of sand in the middle of their day. Patience will be the drivers’ best ally for finding the oasis: the final track has no hidden traps, just so long as you keep your eyes peeled. The panorama that awaits the competitors is more than worth it. Backup vehicles are not allowed in Tichit.

On climbout .....

On approach but due to heavy winds I had to take the approach from the most dangerous area of the airport, the one WITH the ridges :(

On rollout

Made it !!

See ya next stage and enjoy the restday !

EHM-1001 Robert:
Nice pictures Jay ;)

Hey man, you were very very lucky !!! When I did the flight, I got only 1000m visibility at landing. I am glad that I saw your pictures before, so I could prepare the airfield is in a "hole".

I never did before such thing: I was cruising at 200 ft !!! and tried to spot the airfield for minutes, until I reached the edge of the hole. But I could not land inside for the first time, because it is around 300ft deep and I could not put it down safely so made a go-around first. I had to accelerate fast -almost hit the other edge during the "exit"- and I could land from the opposite direction after a long turn in the mist.

Touchdown was hard too, because I landed at the middle of the runway, and run off some meters at the end, fortunately the "wall" was a little further so we survived. I did not believe I could ever made a landing like that...

Is not that a scenery bug ? Is not that airport should be on a hill and not in a hole ?

EHM-1657 Jay:
I am not sure about that, I cannot seem to find pictures of it on the net. Next time I am in the library I will grab a real old style encyclopaedia and look in that :) Now, great stuff that you made it and nice shot you too !

EHM-1821 Javier:
Nice pictures, Jay, I never saw the "no push" sign on the nose and the landing gear so closely :]

I got bad visibility for landing like Robert...:o

X-wind takeoff;D

Climb, conflict...:o:]
