The Oporto Airport (LPPR) exceeded in August of 2006 the number of passengers of Euro 2004.
In the month of August they had passed for the Airport 420,000 passengers, being the absolute record of traffic in one month. In the month of July the value of the Euro already had been exceeded: 37,500 passengers in relation had been carried more the June from 2004. But in the month of August, the traffic of passengers almost exceeded the month of the Euro in 90,000 passengers.
Since that the place of the 3 million passengers was exceeded in December of 2005, the Airport has had a monthly growth of 8%, being that in last the 12 months they had passed for the Airport of Porto 3 million and 300 a thousand passengers. The traffic of the company aerial low cost currently represents 18.8% of the total of passengers of the Airport and flag carriers that more they contributed for the traffic increase is the Portugália and the TAP-Air Portugal. With the recent inauguration of the new Terminal of Passengers, the challenge is now to reach 5 million passengers in 2010!
