Flogger Error 3021
« on: June 05, 2007, 01:25:39 pm »
Right,

So i get the infamous runtime 3021 error when trying to select a flight in flogger, search the forums and none of the previous solutions to the problem have worked.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled flogger, updated the database numerous times and everytime i click on a flight it gives me the runtime error 3021 "Either BOF or EOF is true or the current record has been deleted".

Any ideas anyone?

Same problem for me, but only sometimes. If I get that problem I just shut the flight logger and then open it again. If it still keep saying that, I'll do this again. At least after 3 times doing that I manage to choose the flight.

But if you try that, it doesn't work? If so, then I can't help :(

Matt for us to help you we will need some more detailed information about your system:

What operating System are you using Vista or XP?
What version of FS are you running, FSX, FS9.1 FS9?
What version of FSUIPC is installed?
Do you have Microsoft Office installed and are all the DLL's registered?

Please tell us exactly what you have tried so far so we can discount that information.

Many thanks,

OS: Windows XP
FS: FSX SP1
FSUIPC: 4.09

I have MS Office 2007 installed and cannot install the MDAC com[ponent that has helped others as windows says all features are included in windows when running.  Reregistered all the DLLs as in other forum posts.

I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling flogger.  I have also tried updating the database, again no avail.

It lists all the flights fine, just when i try to select one it says that the record is not current or is BOF or EOF, and seeing as it was working fine the other day I am not sure why as i'd imagine most times this error occurs is when there is a problem with the db it downloads off ther server but i may be wrong... havn't changed anything since flogger was working just one day stopped....

Matt,

Have you put a new Antivirus on your PC or enabled any new Firewall software? I have seen this type of problem before where the Flogger can not communicate. Make sure your firewall is allowing flogger to access the internet.

Cheers,

Matt,

Did you press the read airports button? (Please don't if you didn't as this is not compatible with FSX) If you did, Uninstall it, delete any directories that may get left behind and then try re-installing and flying without pressing this button.

Cheers,

I really am at a loss with this as I have FSX but I have FSUIPC 4.11 running, maybe this might help (http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html) but I don't think so.

Let me do a little more research.

I don't understand it either.  I have upgraded FSUIPC but that hasnt helped.  It lets me select an aircraft fine, it logs my flights fine (apart from knowing which route as it wont let me select it) so the only time i have a problem is when i try to click on a route in the timetable area - and because i can't do that without it crashing it's rendered useless... sounds to me like a problem with the database its downloading but then it would not only be a problem i'm experiencing....

Matt,

This is definately an issue related to the software installed on your PC because nobody else is experiencing this problem. Therefore I tempted to return to the MDAC download. Which version did you download? If you tried 2.8 did you get the SP1 version? If this does not help, can you try uninstalling it and installing the 2.7 SP1 version from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9ad000f2-cae7-493d-b0f3-ae36c570ade8&DisplayLang=en

I am sure this is something to do with it as it is definately a Database issue..... You said you have office 2007, do you have the MS Access component installed? If not, can you try installing it if you have the Small Business or professional edition.

we will keep trying! :)

2.8 with SP1 wouldn't install as it said functionality was already instaled with windows.  2.7 SP1 you linked has not changed this and Access is installed, has been all along.  However If it was a problem with database drivers effectively surely the program would never have worked in the first place?

Very true Matt....

Well, nothing has changed our end either, we have installed no new software on the server and the databases have not been altered. (As far as I can tell anyway) I need to look at this with a clear head tomorrow... I bet it is something very simple we are missing. ;) Worst case, you are only 40 minutes away, you can come and use my PC! LOL

Yes mate, some people call it Stoke, most just call it the S*!t Hole where the A50 joins the A500 & the M6! lol

Glad it is working, very strange mind you! Your computer is not a HAL 9000 is it? (From the movie, 2001 a Space odyssey!)

Sorry well I will let you get up in the air then.... I have things to do too.... Dave, would you like to play a game of chess???? :)

It's normally a transient problem with the database Bruce, hence "turn it off, and then turn it back on again" normally fixes it.
