It\'s about time for a KATL event!
« on: June 24, 2007, 12:04:56 am »
Hi there guys,

After some failed attempts to get an Atlanta event going, here goes (again!) ;)

In our last poll, pilots voted Miami as the destination of choice, with Boston a close second. If everyone still thinks Miami's the place to go, we can get this up and running by this weekend.

The event will be open to both VATSIM and IVAO users, just so no one is left out.

Thanks!

Miami is the place for me mate.
But pls. if possible, let it be a short-ish one.
Family, means I can't have 5-6 hours to spare.

Other than that, anything goes.
Also, I do remember controlled seaports being mentioned during that discussion... :] :] :] :]

The maximum duration of flights will probably be around 2 hours, anything longer than that would limit the number of people available to come due to real world commitments ;)

As for the seaports - if anyone knows of one they would like to go to within the 2 hour mark (Florida Keys, for example), we'd definitely consider it... ;D

Ok then!

The event will be going this weekend, July 7, at 2000hrs GMT.

The route (from RouteFinder) is KATL SID MCN J45 AMG V51 CRG J45 OMN STAR KMIA.

If there are any questions or suggestions - remember, this is the first event I've organized - post here ;)

Pilots from all hubs are welcome! Let's invade the American skies!

Hi Ben,

in order to assist, I've prepared an FS2004 flight (.flt) file, and added FS2004 and FSNav flight plans as per your route.
Please note that in all cases, starting point is Gate D10 (Medium) and no SID/STAR has been used as they depend on prevailing weather conditions.

You can find them at:
KATL Fly-in.FLT - Flight for FS2004
KATL July Fly-in.fsn Plan file for FSNav
KATL July Fly-in.PLN Pla file for FS2004

I hope this helps.
I'm not sure how the code and the link to the files works as it's my first attempt at publishing files online.
Perhaps Murray could d/l them and publish them on the Fly-in's page.

A reminder to everyone that the fly in is at 2000 GMT JULY 7... just 24 hours away!

Hoping to have a good turn out, I'll be on VATSIM myself...
