Hey guys, i thought i'd share my A380 panel with you guys

I merged Ken Mitchell's A340 panel with Pasquale Rinaldi's a380 panel (a380-v1fs9.zip on avsim)





I basically replaced the main panel with the Pasquale Rinaldi's a380 panel and along with the guages in that panel and some other small details

maybe someone could put it up on the EHM website for download? (im gonna make the zip file for it if i get the go ahead )

I have a feeling that the flaps are not provdidng enough extra lift :s when on finals, the AOA is quite high for the approach, higher than in real life, making seeing the runway from the cockpit impossible as i cant see over the panel without moving it

hhmm .. it's a good landing speed.

Let's see if it happens with more persons. Ricardo and Robert tested it and didn't detected that landing speed vs AOA prob but it had been, for sure, on different situations.

Javier, I didn't get any problems with A380. Did you remove the extra payload before your landing? Don't forget you shouldn't have more than 850.000 Lbs at the touch down. This factor is important to maintain the stability of the aircraft during the approach.

yep, around 812000lbs on landing. Maybe its just me :] it might be the panel being too high but im not sure which is correct, so, im gonna test it again see what happens

Javier is right.. the AOA is way to high with full flaps and gear down..

I have to move the seat 'up' to be able to see the runway ..

tested the A380 yesterday with a flight from TNCC to TNCM ...

Also I find the flaps ugly  on big grey block, no details

I've just tested it again and I still think that the EHM A380's AOA is a bit higher than normal,

this is the view im getting

and the AOA on finals (165KIAS)

and flare (155KIAS)


almost no need to flare :]

with first hand experience of seeing a A380 landing;D, i have to say that the AOA on approach is too high but the flare and landing is just right


and btw, has anyone lost the flaps textures on the right wing? mine's not showing, just a shiny surface, not the grey blocky colour :]

Sorry guys, I have to disagree !

In my tests the nose was only 2.5 degrees above the horizon on approach which seems perfectly reasonable for a plane this size... It all depends on weight, speed, wind and config etc so I don't think there is a right answer to this!

Just remember the main panel hides about 60-70% of your view so it's no wonder you need to change viewpoint to see the runway or press W to get the minipanel!! This isn't the only plane this applies to...

I like the A380 and I'm really glad we've got it - so let's all celebrate our new baby, huh??

Errr, partly agree, partly not. Unfortunately not this one is the only plane that you do not have a clean view of the runway. I think it is an FS disease. And this is when Shift+ENTER comes handy.

On many panels you need to adjust the forward view angle to have a "nice" overview on the runway during approach...but it looks a bit odd while taxiing. So, compromises, compromises... I added Javier's panel, and altered a bit the flaps config. Maybe still not perfect, but a bit better

I have carried out several approaches in the new A380 and the nose is pitched too high on approach, I have modified my aircraft.cfg file and the view and AOA is just about perfect. The change to the aircraft.cfg file is as follows: open the cfg file and scroll down to the [flaps.0] and change the lift_scalar from 0.1 to read 0.8 , then save the file. I have tried the approaches several times, and I could see the runway all the way down to touchdown.

Sorry mates but this panel has some bugs:

1. I cannot see lateral views;

2. Two rotative buttons do not allow mouse scrolling to the positive values: HDG, CRS and Altitude.

Is possible to make the somes gauges appear bigger on clicking them? For example for the fuel screen? It is important because there are some values too small and they are importants for the flight, like the weights etc...

2) yea, i realised that too, i think it might be possible to replace them with the knobs from Ken Mitchell's panel

3) i'll go have a shot at making the screen bigger by clicking it

For lateral views I mean, when you are inside cockpit, if you turn your head to the left, right or back side, you only see a black screen, there are no windows :[

thats strange, my cockpit views showed up just fine, i think its the file name for the side view image is different from the file name

could you check that the bold part in for example the front left view:

is the same as your file name for that view? im guessing that its different as i couldnt send the files for the views along with the email to Robert and that might have caused the problem

I have already discovered the problem. The forward_left images etc... don't have the same name like is written in the panel file.

My forward_left image is named: a321_left45.bmp

Now, it is working properly

Robert, please check this because I think I am not the only one with this problem.

same here, all the window values have another name in the panel.cfg then the images stored in the panel folder... how do I change that ?

I fixed a lot on the airplane. Fixed the Fuel config so it looks fine on the Fuel display, fixed the side views, fixed the knobs, and added a bit more flaps power Not as much as Rico adviced, because it would let her takeoff too early

If somebody would have the talent and time to repaint the background, we could have a very own and really nice A380 panel

Does that mean that it's been put onto the A380 and we have to download and install it again?
