This Monday, December 3rd, arrives in Recife the flight of TAP that has, for the first time, crew composed exclusively by women. The flight, which lands at 15h30 on the International Airport Guararapes / Gilberto Freyre, has five women at the helm: the captain, co-pilot, a supervisor and two heads of cabin, in addition to seven assistants on board, informed the public relations of the Portuguese airline.
In addition to the crew, everyone involved in landing will be women: the operator of the finger (equipment which enables the transportation of passengers of the aircraft to the airport), responsible for the Federal Police and also the ground crew.
This action of the Company, in partnership with Infraero, federal police and Empetur (Manor Pernambuco) celebrates the arrival of the first A330-200 bought directly from Airbus, which was incorporated in the fleet last Monday, November 26. The equipment has a capacity of 268 passengers in a configuration of two classes - economic and Top Executive, and with it, the fleet of TAP will have a fleet of 52 aircraft exclusively Airbus.
The same crew board again to Lisbon the following day at 19h20min, leading another aircraft of the Company. TAP, which operates this route for 40 years continuously, has daily flights from Recife to the Portuguese capital.
Women in Company
Currently, TAP has more than 2,000 women in its framework of officials, which represent about 37% of total staff. They work in all sectors of the Company, provided administrative and support on the ground until the area of technical maintenance of aircraft.
In the cockpit, commanders are eight women and ten official pilot. The first of them was admitted in 1990 and the average age is about 30 years.
