Arabian logos

Hi folks,

I got in a very strange situation. I need to help to my colleaugue but we do not know how to start. Basically we have 2 Railway logos that should be "analized" and reproduced somehow. The problem is both are written in Arabic, and we cannot identify the letters.

These are made with Word/Symbols, and we assume the letters forming the mosaic words as written in English. Anyone with the proper knowledge can identify the letters ? Also, do you know how much it is allowed to "remake" Arabic letters in the same way we do with latin letters, and make a new easily readable fontset ?

Thank you very much.

Hi Robert,

that's very lucky!
Mohammed Toummi, the webmaster of the UAE Division of IVAO, has started a thread writing everyone's name in arabic.
I have posted your question at the thread and I'm sure he will reply with some good ideas and solutions, he's always very helpful.

Here's the LINK

Robert, it might be your lucky day tomorrow!

I have to go to London tomorrow to see my Violin teacher (don't ask) and he can speak arabic since he lived in Egypt for 20 years, so I'll print this off and show it to him.

However, I know nothing about Arabic, so this might be interesting;D

argh, sorry, should've replied sooner :(

He said that actually there was something wrong with the logos and it didn't make sense. He couldn't read the first one actually because it was Persian Arabic. Guess that's the only bit of information useful:|
