Panel light failure
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:44:09 pm »
The panel lights associated with several aircraft turn themselves off after a period of time and I am unable to turn them on again no matter what I try, does anyone else suffer this problem, and is there a known cure?.

Which aircraft is this? Probably a dumb question, but is the generators on. Otherwice the battery will discharge.

Hi Bruce,
I have had this problem with several aircrafts like: Beech 1900D, A320, A330, A340, B744F and even the payware B763 from LDS.
What I do is turning the lights on when taking off, turning them off and then turning them on again when landing. If the flight is at daytime I make myself sure that the panel ligths are off.

Good pilots keep their number of landings equal to their number of takeoffs. Takeoffs are optional but landings are Mandatory.

It is a common problem and probably coming from FSUIPC module when it is "hanging" on an online data transfer line. Currently there is no solving for that... quite annoying sometimes at certain dark panels.

If you fly offline you will not experience it. ;) Have you tried the "Electricity always on" switch in FSUIPC? I have not so it is only a guess for solution...

Hi Bruce

Do you have the FS RealTime installed?
I 'm not really sure but I think that the "World Time Zones" scenery files that FS Realtime installs is causing the problem.
Try disabling the WTZ scenery and see what happens, if you have them installed

Let us know if this is the cure
