FS9 Error

(1/3) > >>

EHM-1821 Javier:
After 2 weeks of exams and not using the computer at all, now my FS suddenly gives me some wierd problem

I'm running FS smoothly for no problem for about 1 hour then suddenly "Error" "Failed to read file". If i click ok, it closes FS, if i leave it and continue flying, my FS does not load the scenery and all the other stuff.

Yesterday, after this happens, my comp also gives in and gives me the blue screen of death before crashing and restarting itself, after startup, i get this registry change thing from Spybot Search and Destroy asking me if i allow the registry to be changed, the registry has something to do with some memory dump in the computer, not sure what.

Today, it just crashes my FS, help!:[

Some things i did to my FS recently:
-download and install this V-22 hover gauge from flightsim.com
-Install the EHM MD-11
-plugged in my old problematic joystick (removed it but no difference)

EHM-1883 Matt:
I'm not too technical on this sort of stuff, but if you were given the bsod I'm guessing that your comp might just be packing it in:[

EHM-1001 Robert:
Maybe you should try removing those things, then try again. Maybe another software component causes this and not FS.

EHM-0654 Murray:
Really obvious cause of BSODs and random crashing is memory problems... Grab a copy of memtest86+ (google... it's free) and let it do at least a couple of passes. If that says there's nothing wrong, be happy :)

EHM-2155 Mariano:
If you plugged an old problematic joystick windows may have installed drivers for it (or even you, manually)... If you have system restore on, try doing a roll back to a date previous to these recent events (Start, programs, accessories, System tools, System restore).

This could save you a FS9 re-install and even a windows install/format if the problems are too serious.
