Fuel dumping over Recife
« on: January 19, 2009, 04:30:04 pm »
Shortly after take off from Recife (SBGR) to Atlanta, we had a problem with the electrical system of the B763. In order to land within the MLW of 288,000 lbs, we had to dump about 80,000 lbs of fuel while circling the airport. I never had done that but it was quite an experience. The trails you see is just the fuel dumping. It took about 30' minutes and after that we could land back in Recife.

Good pilots keep their number of landings equal to their number of takeoffs. Takeoffs are optional but landings are Mandatory.
