NextGen ATC... will we see it in FS ???
EHM-1001 Robert:
A cool site of FAA about the next generation, much more computerized and technology based ATC service. Check this out ;)

EHM-1465 Dominic:
I've only looked at the text sections (due to slooooow Internet here on holiday!) but it does look interesting ;)
I'm guessing a lot of this ties in with RNP and CDA principles that are quite well established here in Europe already...
It does make me wonder, how many of us simulate these new routing ideas in our flights..? To a certain extent I guess it pits those who use the VOR & airways routings versus those who go for GPS routes ;)
EHM-1001 Robert:
Good thinking. BTW, RNAV is okay, but what is RNP ? There is a looong article about NextGen on Wikipedia but it do not details RNP...
EHM-1001 Robert:
OK, I got it from a text on the FAA website. ;)
EHM-2387 Eric-Jan:
RNP = Required Navigation Performance
Basically it defines how accurate your (R/V)NAV system must be to be part of this whole NG thing.
It's kinda like those restrictions put on your systems to be RVSM "compatible".
