Does anyone knows how to take the plane to fly I mean where can I find the 1612   PP-A93   B744F, because in the Flight Logger told me: Selected aircraft 106 B744F Volcano Tour ???

Thanks and excuse for the stupid question, but I'm newbie as you know in EuroHarmony & Propilot too :-[

Thanks for your help

Roberto,

You must first lock your flight in the "Propilot" of the web site.

For now you should see your aircraft parked at EGLL, and it should let you lock it BUT the "available flights" list should be empty (until tomorrow, when the first leg will appear... by magic of course).

Also, in order to use the new aircraft and flights, you should use the "update" function on flight logger.

Only after you perform these two tasks, you can use the "Propilot" button on flight logger and this will initialize the flight for you.

Hope this helps

I still have a blank field when I try to book my flight...
One reason may be that I don't have the class 7 certification.

Do you know why??

Thanks for answer

We will check this.

In the meanwhile, please all participants try to lock the first leg flight (if you don't want to fly it right away, you can unlock it afterwards). I need to know who has problems and who hasn't.

Andrei

[EDIT] On second thought, aircraft class may indeed be the problem. In this case it should be fixed by now, please try again

For me is Ok. but I've a problem with my wings I think so. First of all I've FSX Accéleration and the plane for FSX it doesn't appear well. I do install the Volcanob-744f for the FS9 version and It's works but I don't see the wings completely and I don't know how to insert the FSScreen image, sorry for this.

Hello Roberto,

It is normal at the 747 with this panel. You can define the angle how much you look back "over your shoulder" in the Panel.cfg file. At this airplane this angle is not defined, so the game offers default 45° angles viewed from the cockpit.

Hi Dominik !
Just finished  the EUROHARMONY VOLCANO SCIENTIFIC STUDY TOUR  01/16
After shutdown the engines I wanted to sent the PIREP, but Flightlogger said "You have to choos an aircraft" - but it was choosen  -  B744F  -  so I had to made a "manual" report
I´ve see, I got a penalty - started engine without beacon - it´s  a mistake with PMDG - beacon WAS ON !!!
I pressed the button "Save ACARS" - maby you can check it !
I also was asked by pressing the button "Pro Pilot" if I want realy make the flight an I confirmed  -  is my Aircraft now registered in Greece?

Now I have noticed, that I didn`t update my Flight Logger - maby this was the error !!!  What a fool I am  -  can you help me to avoid to repeat the flight?

With a lot of greetings
Franz

Hi Franz,

Indeed the Flight logger needs an update to get both the leg flight and the aircraft, it's not the standard B744F but a variation of it - a visually customized variation thanks to Robert's work.

It seems that due to this incomplete setup, FL3 did not "see" you departing so technically you were just sitting quiet at EGLL. In FL3, the visual clue of a flight being actually recorded is the enabled "Stop Log" button (which no one wants ever press of course). I hope I made this "recording or not, this is the question" more obvious in FL4 but it's not released yet.

Anyway I think we can indeed fix your aircraft for the next leg. Let me check...

Well, I just landed leg 2 in the Congo and d**n! Hit a thunderstorm on arrival. Put her down nice and slow, right on the numbers and thrust reversers, spoilers, plus maximum brakes wasn't quite enough. Just overran at the end.

You'll be as glad as I to know that the aircraft sustained no damage and that 5 1/2 hour flight was successful.

I have a video of it, might throw it together and stick it up on youtube ;)

Very impressive video :o, very difficult to land as I see, I don't know how to do it, maybe tomorrow. What is your secret to land like that.

Thanks for your comments please. :)

Franz,

I see Dom has already validated your PIREP, unfortunately one that is manually submitted cannot count as a PP flight.

However this should not be a problem, I moved (database-wise) your airplane to LGSA and I think this should be enough for you to continue the event. Please try to lock the second leg and post again if you encounter any difficulties.

That's strange, I have checked the runway length and there should be enough of it for a 747  ???

BUT I think I know why this happened... As stated in the leg "volcanic details", in real life 1/3 of the runway was covered in lava some time ago and thus become unusable (as well as part of the taxiways, isolating some parked aircraft left with nowhere to go). This appears clearly visible in Google Earth.

I was aware of this when I planned this leg, however (a little to my surprise) the runway appeared to have its full length available in both FS9 and FSX. I just did not check X-Plane  8)

So, FS9 and FSX users, calm down, you got 30% extra runway :)

Wet runways in x-plane have a much greater effect on stopping than in MSFS.

Had that runway been dry, I think I might have made it.

Then again, it is the congo.

That runway was much shorter than the one I landed on in Greece though, so you could be right there Andrei.  ;D

Also neither airpoort so far has had ILS, so I've had to make visual approaches - are they all like this?

Another nice video Alex. I take it you were fairly close to min manoeuvre speed as you landed... I was surprised by how far beyond the end of the rwy you ran, must have been heart stopping in the cockpit ;D

hehe, I was thinking "5 & 1/2 hrs nooo... 5 & 1/2 hrs nooo... 5 & 1/2 hrs nooo..."

I was at about 160 ias on that approach iirc

That said, I find that the x-plane 747 handles much better than the MSFS 747s. They both feel heavy, but roll, yaw etc are more responsive in x-plane.

I don't think the MSFS 747 could do this:

the x-plane ones would.

No, I could not find enough runways having the correct length but no ILS :) , so we will be "forced" to use ILS from time to time. However, some have ILS in one direction only so it's not up to me but up to the weather upon arrival.

Well, in the first leg I found it fun to make a part-VOR, part-visual approach with the 747. But currently I am flying the 2nd leg and I may just find FZNA less amusing, especially due to the terrain one has to fly into in case of go-around.

Andrei

[EDIT] Meanwhile I landed at FZNA, and I confirm there is enough runway for a 747 in FS9 and FSX. And guess what? The next leg arrival airport has no ILS either  ;D
