New rules for the Museum planes
« on: June 10, 2010, 04:21:07 pm »

Following several requests to make it possible to fly the Museum planes on regular routes, we have changed the rules regarding the use of these planes. As you'll see in the updated Operations Manual, all Museum planes, including the expanded selection of retired EHM aircraft, can now be flown on MAIN FLEET routes (not Division routes even for the retired Division planes) that are appropriate to their Flight Class. You'll find their Flight Class on each plane's Fleet Page and in the Flight Logger to help you. Of course you can fly all Prop planes on any Class 1-3 flight and Class 4 to 6 Jets on all Class 4 to 6 Jet routes so you have quite a choice of possible routes for these aircraft.

PLEASE NOTE - these Museum planes cannot be used for ProPilot flights except when a PP Event is running.

Don't forget to update your Flight Logger so that all the Museum planes show up in the aircraft selection window! The new list should include the Dornier 228, Fokker 50, Antonov 72, Ilyushin 96-300, Lockheed Tristar and Concorde as well as the DC-3, DC-8 and JU-52.

At the moment, all the installers for the Retired planes are for FS2002/FS2004 but these planes all work in FSX too with a minimum of changes. I'm working on Installers for these all to work in FSX so watch this space for more developments soon ;)

Excellent work Dominic, especially the IL96 and L1011.

I think you may have forgotten the 727! ;)

The first two FSX versions are now available on the Fleet pages - the Dornier 228 and Fokker 50. Have fun with them!

Well, the number 1 reason is that to add them into PP would mean an awful lot of work for us right now (when we have more than enough already... ;))

@Hélio: [ http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/site/fleet_docs/museum/f_l1011.html ] ;D Link text reads "Lockheed Tristar" and it's in the left-most column.

There are several reasons for this decision but my main one is that there is a conflict between the realism that ProPilot is meant to represent (flying like a real airline pilot) and these relaxed rules for planes that are not in our current fleet. We've made the change to increase the choices available to pilots but these are still Museum planes rather than current ones and therefore flights in them do not represent "realistic" EHM airline operations. That's why PP is not allowed with Museum planes ;)
