Sneakily they've been developing it since a weeks after the cancellation announcement.

Beautiful visuals, an FMC and navigraph...

That VC is a thing of beauty... And I love the CRJ (it's a bit of a baby Boeing insofar as cockpit procedures go)

Just need it released and then repainted in EHB colours (CRJ-200 is the Challenger 850).

Word from the lead developer is that the plane is now ready for release - the only things holding it are 1. Permission from Navigraph and 2. the installer.

The CRJ Manuals (excepting pilot handbook) are available to download:

When released the CRJ will be available from here:

Interesting reading there.

So the CRJ does not really have a VNAV function? Or it is just not modelled? Ditto autothrottle.

I am also a bit surprised that the T/O trim and v-speeds are not calculated within the FMS.

This jet is sort of making me think of the ATR72-500 in that while a prop has the same FMS functions and yet VNAV and all v-speeds are handled manually by increase/decrease throttle. A bit surprising given all the fancy stuff in the cockpit.

Still its nice to see not just a manual but also a flight tutorial that I think is missed by a lot of payware devs.

Yep, really doesn't have an autothrottle.

The CRJ gives advisory VNAV only but does not act on this. Since this is the case, the devs haven't modelled this functionality in the sim, although may add in later on as an update, but the effect of not including it is small as it won't control the aircraft.

This aircraft is a real stepping stone from something the ATR 72-500 to the more advanced systems in say a 737.

Don't forget the CRJ grew out of a business jet.
