Departure & Arrival Times
EHM-1538 Jen:
Silly question about the timetable...
I'm wondering about the flight departure and arrival times listed on the timetable. I have always assumed that the departure time is when you pushback from the gate and that the arrival time is when you stop at your destination gate. Is that correct?
The reason why I'm asking is that I just want to be sure that the schedule is saying that I should be aiming to get from gate to gate on flight EHM-1000 in 60 minutes rather than from engine startup to shutdown in 60 minutes (if it IS saying the latter then I'm taking way too long!).
Thanks in advance!!

Departure and Arrival are from when the pane takes of and lands. ;)
Well thats what is says on the flight logger. If you dont have it, you might want it. It makes recording your flight alot easyer. :)
EHM-0001 Gergely:
No, departure and arrival in the timetable are from startup to shutdown... I mean, times are calculated for that.
CEO :)
EHM-0361 Karsten:
First of all Gergely is of course right (has to say that, he's the boss ;D) It isn't always easy to stay within the timetable. Theres a lot of factors that the timetable can't forsee, like bad weather, other traffic and thing like that. So unless your time is way of the timetable nobody is going to raise an eyebrow. But a little piece of advice is, if there is a special reason why your flight took a bit longer then the timetable says. Then add a few words about it in the pilot comments.
EHM-1001 Robert:
I do not know if you are talking about the flight logger, or the Timetable in the website.
The Timetable in the website contains takeoff and landing times. If you send in a PIREP, then after the flight duration (from takeoff to landing) the departure time will be recalculated for the flight in the timetable. And it does not matter what was your block time (from startup to shutdown) which is important only for calculating your total flight time, but not the main timetable.
According to this, if you see, that a flight departs at say, 10:00 you should startup about 5...15 minutes before it, so around 09:45. It depends on the airport size, and amount of AI traffic. I usually sit into the cockpit about half an hour before the departure time. It is well enough for pre-flight checks, route creation, for boarding the passengers and for the airport to fill it with life: as the AI planes start moving. During the first 10-15 minutes many AI planes will leave for takeoff, and from the amount, I can plan how much time should I need for taxiing, to be on the hold short point at Departure Time.
