Title: 10th Anniversary Fly-in - sign up here!
Post by: EHM-1465 Dominic on April 19, 2011, 03:01:57 am

As part of the celebrations to mark 10 years since EuroHarmony VA began operations on 29th April 2001, we are having a special fly-in on Friday 29th April 2011, starting at 1800 Zulu (which is 1900 British Summer Time).

We will be recreating the very first EHM flight which was from LSZH (Zurich) to LSZB (Bern) using a special commemorative B1900D in a livery based on our VA's first paint scheme. We will then have a second leg (as the first is a quite short hop) from LSZB to EGLC (London City) with its exciting steep approach ;)

More details, such as preferred routings and charts, will appear shortly. Participants may fly online on IVAO or VATSIM as you prefer.

Please sign up in this thread if you would like to join us for this very special occasion, indicating your choice of network  :)

I really like to be there, but I'm not sure 1800 Z is to early for me :'( and I'm not sure by IVAO or VATSIM, could be for the most popular in termes of EHM people, but first option by IVAO :-\

Sorry I forgot to say if is possible to fly with the Beech 1900D PMDG version ???

Thanks

Thanks a lot EHM TM, you're the best of the VA's world ;D and for all my friends of X-plane a little gift in order to begin our 10th Anniversary : Release FreeZ v0.9 X-Plane

A wonderful sunday evening
We're indebted to Yves Graf and Hermann Lehmann for their outstanding work on FreeZ v0.9 for X-Plane, which has been released this evening.

There are two versions: While the Ultra version comes with static aircrafts, the Standard version is completely free of static aircrafts.

Thanks for your work!

And of course for FS9 and sorry for the guys who fly with FSX I think is in progress :(

VATSIM checking in...although I may have to fly a slightly different aircraft as I had issues with the 1900D on my system. I would imagine the ATR or PC-12 to be a reasonable substitute?

I am very sorry to miss this celebration but at that time I will be flying back home from Bogota and will arrive at 0400Z April 30th. A royal pity. Why you didn't combine it with an event for taking Prince Williams on his wedding night?

I'm in! (IVAO)
I've been very busy with other things, IRL stuff, bla bla bla....

Also I have to be somewhere the 29th at 8 pm (the fly in starts at 7 pm for me) so is there any info as far as ETA?

Post by: EHM-2387 Eric-Jan on April 21, 2011, 08:45:46 pm
It will be a 2-hop fly-in. The first one is a short hop from Zurich (LSZH) to Bern, (LSZB). That was the leg it all started with 10 years ago. But as that is only a small hop of about 1/2 hour, we decided to add a do-able leg to the current president's home field (almost ;)). So the second leg is LSZB to London City (EGLC).

So in your case, Mariano, you would probably only have time to fly the first leg, sitting at LSZH around 1800Z. That time is fixed, I'm afraid. But it would sure be great to have you around for the first leg  :)

The specially designed commemorative livery is now available for the PAD B1900D and also the PMDG payware B1900D on the Fleet pages :)

Fantastic work by E-J (PAD) and Alexander (PMDG) - thanks guys!

ROUTES AND CHARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO HELP YOU PLAN YOUR FLIGHTS TOMORROW!

See attachments below...

Sorry, I can't attach the LSZH charts here as there are too many, even split into four zips - the upload kept timing out! You can however download them all HERE (http://www.vacc.ch/file/35)

Useful info available HERE (http://www.ivao.ch/ba_cms/public/index.php?cmd=smarty&id=2_len) from IVAO's Swiss Division ;)

And useful info for London City from THIS LINK (http://ivao.co.uk/atc/quickview/lclookup.pdf)

Both hops are in the timetable for you to assign to your dispatch logs - they are both main division Class 1 flights and as follows if using the timetable list: (search for the flightnumber not including "EHM-") and can be found under the Zurich hub.

EHM-1464 LSZH to LSZB
EHM-00057 LSZB to EGLC

It's easier to use the map though, under Euroharmony Class 1.

Anyone generated routes and altitudes for this yet?

Ignore me, found them in the zip

Post by: EHM-2381 Ted on April 29, 2011, 05:26:24 pm
I did via FSC. I will post them a bit later.

I am going to do the first leg at the scheduled time (1800z) and then leg 2 to London City later in the evening around 2030z.

To be fair the only thing you really need to plot is the SID from LSZH for the first flight as its so short  :D.

The second leg via low altitude airways should bring you in for a DET arrival. Hopefully there will be ATC around for that as London airspace gets really crowded on a Friday night-at least on VATSIM.

Ok here are my planned routes-bear in mind I'm flying the ATR72-500 so you may need to adjust as you see fit:

Leg 1 LSZH-LSZB

If the winds stay the same it will be a RWY 10 departure via WIL2D then as directed from the WIL VOR or via the WIL2M STAR into Bern (if no ATC) with a planned altitude of FL120.

If you don't have the updated AFCAD for LSZH you will need a different runway+SID as RWY 10 is the newer crosswind runway not included in original FSX.

Leg 2 LSZB-EGLC

BADEP BALIR KUBOM LXI SDI CVT CTL ABY BNE DET with a DET arrival to EGLC. ALKI3D is the proper STAR but I chose a NAVAID route for this leg. Easy enough to program in the FMS. I am doing this leg at FL220. The Bern departure is pretty much RWY heading and left turn to BADEP as the SID's are meh for this airfield.

Hope that helps!

I need help, as usual
When connecting to IVAO, I don't get any Beech liveries to select from the MTL
I checked the MTL and there aren't any more Beech models to download.

Is the Beech 1900 no longer supported or something?
Otherwise I'll pick an airbus a380 and look completely ridiculous...

Leg 1 complete. No VATSIM Swiss radar but ATC cover over France and into the UK looks good for leg 2.

See ya on the ground soon!

No reports and no pictures yet... so let me just say the short story, I mean on the IVAO side.

Not a huge participation but those who attended did have their share of online flying fun. The first leg was good to "touch and feel" the B1900D (I admit I had never tried this version before), so that we can handle the delicate approach at EGLC.

As a bonus, we had ATC over Southern England, and this was a welcome change after just following the published procedures in Switzerland.

Everyone who showed up made it to the finish.

't Was a good event; I enjoyed it very much :)

I have recorded our manoeuvrings with FS recorder, so I can replay and take screenshots later. Haven't had time for a report yet, because I had to leave right after the flight to EGLC, and I won't be back home 'till Monday. But I will suree make one during the next week ;)

Thanks to all that flew along!

So am I going to be the first one to post pictures of the fly in?  :D

Came online a bit earlier cos I knew I'd have problems with IVAO or other things. Effectively, what gave me the most trouble was Flight Logger, I'll detail my misadventures with it on the support forum.
Shortly after I was joined by Eric-Jen, and when we were chatting about conditions and choosing 28 as our active to depart right West, as there was no wind, when Alexander and Andrei joined us.
They went through their checks and startup in record time since EJ and I had to leave as soon as possible to attend some matters (I had a self-defense class myself and the instructor gets really pissed when we are late!  ;D)

Eric-Jen and Alexander taxi ahead while I take a different path. That doesn't look too wide for a taxiway in my scenery :o

Alexander ready for take-off, waiting for E-J to climb out

" 'tis nice up here "

Everyone parked, Andrei wedging everyone from behind ;D "Oi oi mate, I need to remove my car!"

It was a short flight but it was definitely fun, it was a real shame I couldn't make the hop to London, but I hope everyone had fun on that one too.

I did this final shot as a sort of "creative randomness" to commemorate the 10 years, I hope it's to your liking

Cheers EuroHarmony, you guys are a lot of fun every time.
