In just under three weeks, March the 17th, all of Ireland and much of it's emigration hubs (USA, Canada, Australia) will turn green to celebrate St. Patrick's day (Lá Fhéile Pádraig).
We'll take the opportunity to fly in as many green enthousiasts to the great parade in Dublin as we possibly can! We'll even modify the timetable, just to be able to get them there ;D
Of course, we'll use our green fleet of EuroHolidays to transport the men, women, and children to their birthgrounds to celebrate Irelands National Holiday ...
Here's the deal:
* We fly in to Dublin international airport, EIDW
* We plan our flights so as to arrive at EIDW at 1600Z, in time for dinner and the evening parade ;)
* You can choose any airplane of the EHO fleet: EMB120, F100, B757-200, or MD-11
* You can choose any of our hubs (except Castlegar) as your departure airport. The corresponding flights will be in the timetable before that day...
* You can fly any flight up to your current rank (EHO offers class 3 and above flights)
* Fly online on IVAO or Vatsim. Flying offline wil, of course, not put you in contact with your fellow EHM pilots (it is allowed, though, of course)
* You can fly on ProPilot, or assign yourself a chartered flight.
* Sign up in this thread, stating your departure airport, and type of airplane. This serves 2 purposes:
- Others will know what you do , and might join you
- If you want to fly on ProPilot, we can make sure there's an airplane moved to your departure airport. So please sign up early, so that we can make all the necessary arrangements for you :)
Charts of Dublin International Airport can be found here:
http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/aip_eidw_charts.htm (http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/aip_eidw_charts.htm)

EHAM 4, 5
LSZH 4, 5
ESSA 5
LPPT 5
LGAV 5, 6
KATL 7
WSSS 7

I'll be the first to state my intentions ;)
I'll take the (Digital Aviation) F-100 (FSX) from EHAM to EIDW. Not on ProPilot for me, because I am not that proficient with this plane yet ... :o
On IVAO, to see you all in the Virtual Skies too ;D ;D
C.U. up there!!!
-
Great idea E-j. I'll be there EHAM-EIDW Douglas MD-83 (coolsky) FS9 by IVAO of course ;D
-
Sign me in E-J, EHAM-EIDW with MD83, thanks.
See you there guys. ;)
-
OK guys, I'll punch in the legs in the time table somewhere this week.
I just need to know if you intend to fly ProPilot or not, because that would mean I'd also have to move an MD-83 to EHAM before that (and maybe more or other planes as signups poor in ;))
Otherwise, a chartered (online) flight is always possible with FL4, once the timetable is complete.
-
Hi E-J
A charter flight will do just fine mate. :)
Cheers
T
-
Charter for me too ;D and thanks again E-j. ;)
-

hehe, made a little mistake;
once the timetable is up-to-date, you need to assign yourselves the flight through Dispatch => Timetable (remember to select the EuroHolidays flight, or you won't be able to select a plane from the EHO fleet), and NOT through Charter. The charter fleet does not have any of the EHO planes, only EHM, EHB, and EHC.
I will punch in the flight during this week, and activate them only a little prior to St. Patrick's Day ;)
-
Thanks and did it: Assigned flights
Aircraft From To Pax Cargo Departure Distance
Douglas MD-83 EHAM Schiphol EIDW Dublin 138 - 14:00z 466nm
;D
-
Yep, they are all in the timetable already, and I activated the EHAM flights (incl. return flight) already to test if they could be assigned.
Since you already assigned yourself that flight, I will not de-activate them again, because that may lead to weird results...
-
For all you long-haulers out there: this event will see the introduction of the KATL-EIDW, and even WSSS-EIDW legs to the EuroHolydays time-table (incl. return flights, but of course you can also fly on to any other hub ;) )
-
I'll go from LPPT. Not sure about the aorcraft, but one of these two F100 or MD83. I'll give the certain type in the next few days.
-
Great, Hélio :D
LPPT-EIDW is a class 5 EuroHolidays flight in the timetable is officially a class 5 flight, so it is meant to be flown by MD83.
But it's OK to assign yourself that flight with a Fokker 100 too. She's got the range, so no worries. The choice is entirely yours.
Happy to see you "on board" ;D
-
To all that want to participate:
I have decided not to touch the PP fleet. Please assign yourself the flight through the Dispatch => Timetable function.
If you desperately want to fly on PP, give me a PM with any plane (tailnumber) you'd like to fly, and I'll temporarily reserve that plane for you personally until after the event.
Next, fly yourself and the plane to the hub you want to depart from, in time for the fly-in. Then fly the event, of course ;).
After the fly-in, I'll "un-reserve" the plane again, so that you or anybody else can fly her out of Dublin again.
-
Will fly from EHAM or LSZH depending on the time available, on IVAO, with the F100 of course.

Happy to see you with us, Andrei! :D
to all:
we now have a Company Channel on IVAO TeamSpeak:

This would, of course be a good opportunity to try it out!
;D

I assume EHAM rwy 36L will be in use for departures, which takes a good 20 minutes to taxi to.
My Flightplanning says I'll be airborne for 01:26.
So my plan is to go off blocks at EHAM at around 1400Z, be ready for take-off at 1430Z-ish, and arrive around 1600Z in Dublin.
Depending on ATC, I will be on the Company Channel slightly before taxi, and somewhat after "on blocks"
I hope to see you there! :)
-
Thanks for your input Eric-Jan. I'll be there around 1400 GMT too. See you ;)
-
I meant to say I'll be there somewhat earlier, because I'll start taxiing at 1400Z.
I hope that was clear ...
-
got it, around 1340 zulu ;)
-
Gents,
the timetable has been updated with EuroHoliday flights in and out of EIDW, from all our hubs except CYCG.
So find your way to EGLL, EHAM ESSA LSZH, LPPT, KATL, or WSSS, and then come join the Dublin festivities! ;D
If you desire to fly from KATL or WSSS, you better hurry ... if you want to be in EIDW at 1600Z ;)
-
My departure will DEFINITELY be LSZH, I did a practice flight offline this morning. Will try to get the right timing to arrive near 1600Z too, though.

...
I was wrong; EHAM departures are 24 at the moment, and will be so for a while.
So 1400Z online, 1420 off blocks, will give plenty of time to taxi that little bit :)
-
ok. see you @ 1400 gmt :)

I put my pictures of this remarkable day in this thread:
