Are there any doctors here? I cannot get an appointment until Monday and this is not quite bad enough for the ER. Just last night at dinner I started feeling a cramp in my upper left arm which is an unusual place for a cramp seeing as my lower arm is feeling fine and cramps are usually in the extremities. It woke me up last night and it took about an hour to get back to sleep. I have pretty much eliminated the possibility of it being a cramp and when I ran a search on google, a bunch of hits came up for something called cina which is some sort of herbal remedy. Under the description for cina was also something about pain when coughing which I have had very mildly recently. I am wondering if anyone knows any kind of home remedy that can hold me until Monday? The pain is bad enough that I won't be able to fly :'( . Oh and moving it around and eating a banana does not help.
Thanks a Million,
Jonny

Probably sprainedthe arm due to too much flying!:]

Sounds like RSI to me ... anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen and you'll be back in the air within thirty minutes :)

Is there a doctor in the house??? Must confess i am so will try to sound serious<cough>....as said above, it's probably just a muscular strain...main thing is to rest the affected limb but keep gently moving it...massage(!)...and ibuprofen anti-inflammatory pills or good old paracetemol...doesnt sound serious but if arm drops off let us know!!! From the get go, I'm not a Doctor and in all such things bow to the umpteen years knowledge and education of DrHoyle, but given I've only needed to visit the quack once to my knowledge since I was a small human, from the alternative medicines camp you could try massaging with one of the warming embrocations (Ralgex, Deep Heat, et al, or my favourite red Tiger Balm...)
If you go this route, personally I'd avoid Ralgex as for some reason it always brings me out in a rash [YMMV] - I'm guessing they put way more capsaicin in than my skin is prepared to deal with...
