Title: Monthly Fly-in LIRF-LFML discussion space

Soon it is time for our monthly online fly-in again. Last time we flew in the north of Europe from West to East. This time we will fly in the southern part from East to West. The departure airport will be Rome. We wil leave at 20.00 GMT (21.00 CET). After about 1 hour we will arrive In Marseille. Details for the event can be found Here

You can discuss the event Here. If you have any questions please ask the Online flying coordinator

Marseille is set for some bad weather. But you can never trust predictions. :)

Please inform me, I am furiously reading the mannuals trying to get myself prepared, i am not used to online flying so i am trying to learn all the terms, what they mean and also getting used to the A/C LOL;D

I am really exited, does anyone have an approximate time of Arrival or a rough guide of our flight time!]

Tim, sorry for the delay in answering this, I was in a stinking mood most of the weekend (my housemate came back from her holiday and then went off on one at me when she got home...)

Yes, ActiveSky works perfectly well with IVAP (it's what I do), just remember to turn off all the weather support in IVAP first. Start at the bottom of the four weather related tick boxes and work your way up turning them all off, disabling IVAP weather support last.

Were abouts are these options, Ive had a look on the Config panel and its not there.

A screeny to make it obvious. This was taken using v 0.4.0 of IVAP (special install on my work machine, hence "defaults"), it was much the same in previous versions.

As you can see, in the "IvAp - Configuration" tool there is a tab called "Weather & Time". Start by turning off "Pressure smoothing" (assuming you are using FS2002) and work your way up, disabling "Wind smoothing", "Clear weather on disconnect" and "Weather Active" last. You can then click OK and start up your FS session as you would normally. Finally, once FS is running, start up ActiveSky (2004.5 in my case).

When I had been waiting for my clearence for an hour I disconnected by myself.
Last time I tried to get airborne online I waited for 40 minutes.
But next time I will use voice instead. Because then the controller notices you easier.

Well somehow after my FS crashed, I restarted, and then it worked until I had taken off. Then I changed to APP but the TS didnt work then the IVAP made some funny sound then disconnects. I wasnt happy and just gave up.

Hope theres a next time.;)

Yes, TS issues - I've had similar myself at very busy airports; IvAp not retrieving ATIS, TS not changing channels at all, TS disconnecting...

Your best bet may be to throttle IvAp right back to reduce the amount of other traffic you see and how often it is "refreshed"... (saw posts to that effect in the IVAO-HQ forums... Hmm... now there's a thought for a new IvAp feature - dynamic multiplayer visibility.)

(BTW, the funny sound is the Pacman death sound from the arcade machine... You young 'uns who never knew the original don't know what you're missing...)

As for IVaP, i now from the forum on the IVAO site that the connection problem is a bad one and they are on the case...try the forum for any tips. See you all next month, Jim

Post by: Anonymous on March 23, 2005, 08:37:13 pm: EHM0502, there is a way to replace the IVAO textures for a kind of a/c with textures from any plane you desire, this makes you see the textures of the plane you selected for that given a/c. The problem is that even when other airlines choose that a/c, it will show as the textures you chose. It is done modifying one of the aircraft notepads, I do not remember which.
