Try installing all available Project AI planes and then try an approach at say, Paris CDG and then London Heathrow. Believe it now?

I can't believe those figures and I thought that EHAM and heathrow where the same size near enough
Theres me clamped up:$

using Flight simulator doesn't count! there are limited slots, lousy atc and worst of all stupid ai pilots! ;)

There is a lot af cargo handled at EHAM, it did not say anything about the number of aircraft starting and landing.

EHAM is bigger than Heathrow and has more runways, but there are too many people complaining about noise here. Typically dutch. Also, Amsterdam is less famous than London, hehe.. and AMS is also used more as transition airport as Holland is perfectly located in the middle of Europe.

Hmm well at least Amsterdam is growing much more strongly than london

For the definitive information you need to visit this site:
http://www.airports.org/
Click on traffic data and then data to date this year for the latest information.
For air traffic movements:
Chicago
Atlanta
Dallas - Fort Worth
Los Angeles LAX
Phoenix
Paris CDG
Minniapolis
Cinncinatti
Las Vegas
Denver
Detroit
Houston
London Heathrow 463,650
Los Angeles VNY
Frankfurt
Philadelphia
Charlotte
Miami
Amsterdam 408,297
(i.e. Heathrow is 13th busiest this year and EHAM is 19th busiest.)
If you would rather measure by human traffic then you get the following:
Atlanta
Chicago
London Heathrow 63, 468, 620
Tokyo
Los Angeles
Dallas - Fort Worth
Frankgurt
Paris CDG
Amsterdam 39, 959, 161
(i.e. EGLL is 3rd and EHAM is 9th busiest).
With such a significant difference in passenger numbers compared to such a relatively small difference by comparison in aircraft traffic I guess EGLL must have proportionally more large passenger planes than EHAM.
For EHAM fans wanting to claim one 'biggest airport' victory, you need to use the cargo weight moved in metric tonnes figures.
This puts EHAM at 15th in the world at 1, 353, 729 metric tonnes and EGLL right behind at 16th in the world with 1, 300, 420 metric tonnes.
For those who love death by statistics, the above site will be a fascinating read.

Either way, Chicago and Atlanta are on top! hehe ;D;);D

If you do a search in Yahoo or Google for comparative information about airport size you will return a load of american newspaper articles showing quite a rivalry between local residents as these two airports fight for the top slot. The numbers are significant and certainly leave EGLL and EHAM well behind.

Nah mate. Heathrow is always gonna be by far the best! We dont need no American copies!!!:>

He right there. but Machester is coming better and better:]
