Dear pilots,
As you know we are always trying to have our VA on the top of the VA's on the world.
Because of that we also need to know what our pilots are thinking of our VA.
We need to start a brainstorm with all of you where we would like to hear what things would you like to have on our VA, and what should we deprecate or doesnt make sense to have.
Don't be "shame" to tell it, even if it is something very unusual. But tell it! :)
Kindly Regards,

How about some way of making it easier to submit PIREPS to IVAO. At the moment (not having done it myself) it is annoying having to submit pireps twice, and having to manually enter one of them.
What about some more info displayed on the ACARS page, such as route etc., and perhaps a world map as well as the europe one.
Any other ideas (I'm sure there will be)...

A map that displays where I have flown! :P
-
As a former member of the management I made the ACARS map that is displayed on our website. Enhancing this map would mean a better accuracy/precission of this map, but it quite hard to find a map that is this detailed.
If anyone of you have a PSD file of a map with a Mercator conformal projection, then this would mean a big step forward.

Sounds cool, i would like to see more people on the Live Support and i am always willing to help.;);D

I would like to see a "EuroHarmony pilot's school" where we can learn the severals right procedures of a flight.(VFR,IFR)
Perhaps with the implementation of some kind of "black box" in the plane, where later we can analyze and rectify our errors. (FLTREC..FSNET?....)
Analyze the different phases of a flight, for instance take off, sid, enroute,star,landing...etc
This school would have lessons on line, once a week or twice a month,or more times, late on saturdays and sundays.( After 2200z)
I know it is a lot of hard work, but i know the hard times i had in the beggining, to learn everything all alone, a really self made pilot...lol...eheheh
Even today, with almost 300 online hours, i 'm always learning....for instance..i'm doing the IVAO VFR tour, and in Palm Springs airfield KZLA_CTR say's --"Taxi and h/s rwy 29R" later in the next airfield (Van Nuys), the same controller say's---"Taxi and hold in position rwy 21"..and i didn't see the difference between the two commmands. But they are differents, and now i know they are differents.
The incredible Blah....Blah...ehehehe..

Have to say i don't think there is a lot to improve...hence why we have so many loyal members!!;D
Couple of suggestions though...
1) May be you could assign a recommended flight plan with each flight in the timetable ie when you select the flight either via the website or the flight logger, it could show you the suggested cruise altitude and flight plan - saves a bit of time instead of going to other route finder websites??
2) Also, possibly have a list of the timetabled flights catergorised into length of flight eg city hopper, short haul, long haul - sometimes i only have say an hour to do a flight so i have to spend quite a while looking through the timetable to find a suitable fluight??
3) I know this has been brought up before but i personally am quite in favour of an OPTIONAL assigned flight each week - ie management assign you a flight, could be any class, any country, any division and you can fly it if you wish - if, say you completed a certain number of flights then you could get some sort of award?? The flights could be linked in some sort of story type way or just random.....i know alot of people have strong views about this but just an idea

some kind of piloits skool would be cool. also maybe a few helicopters for tiny tours - eg) moutins, grand canunas , things like that.
think bout ut :>:D;):]:8 #

or perhaps an fuel - calculator would be a nice tool......

Be careful what you wish for... ;)
(Think I can get away with that...)
Well, attracting more pilots isn't all that easy in real terms. If you want to attract pilots who don't already fly for a VA, a good Google ranking will help no end (so everyone that has a web presence, make sure you have a link to EuroHarmony on it and submit it to Google...)
And to "poach" pilots from other VAs, I think the work we are now doing to increase our IVAO/VATSIM online presence will help with that no end. Otherwise, I think that as a VA we are doing everything right (keeping the fleet moving forward, stopping tours getting too stale, and so on...)

Hello!
I think flightlist are good idea but if it is too hard to make don't make it:P I like very much about flightlists

I'd like to see an expansion of the Virtual Flight Academy which is great at the moment for practising your skills in light aircraft... but how about EuroHarmony's own airliner 'Simulator' ? I was watching an ITVV DVD of the real SAS A320 simulator in Stockholm and it made me think how great it would be to recreate the simulator sessions real airline pilots undertake every 6 months. That way you can practice rejected take-offs and engine fire at V1 without upsetting our EuroHarmony passengers ;D
I've been using the fantastic Lonny Payne freeware Boeing 757/767 panel (available on avsim for those who don't already have it) which includes a 'sim panel' - this lets you set up engine failure or fires, hydraulic and electrical failures, even in-flight decompression :o
I think it'd add a whole new dimension to our training and you could receive an 'Emergency Management' Award once you'd mastered certain situations. You could build in extreme weather scenarios as well for a bit of extra spice...;)
The other thing I'd like to see (which has been discussed before in the Forum) is the EuroHarmony 'Golden Oldies' Division as I love flying David Maltby's classic British jets... We could have a selection of older planes doing the rounds of European air shows to boost recruitment and gain new passengers too ;D

I think that if possible there should be a way of being a passanger and/or co-piolet on a flight, although i think that this is not possible.
-
http://gates.to
That will get you to be copilot/pilot in a single plane
-
wow so this software already exists *downloads*

:'( I wrote many things here but everything has erased... Stupid computer!
Anyway... The flight school is a great idea. I can say that we can make a schedule for basics like taking off, enroute, landing, communications. The important thing is to have instructors who have got time to do their classes. I don't know how many people are registering every month but I think there can be 10 people who wants to take lessons and who have got time to do this classes. One instructor will be enough up to 5 people I think.
The flight school will improve our internal realtionships and communicatons I think. Every new pilot can have his/her own leader to get advise or ask questions.
I had another topic but I am not able to remember it now. :(
I will post a message whenever I can remember what it was.
Happy flights and safe landings.
With love.
Emre.
PS: Thanks for asking Bruno... :)

Well, I just knew about gates.to/fsnet.
I'm thinking it could be a revolution in VA online flight.
A person ranked copilot could actually fly with a captain of the VA... as a copilot !
It's only beta now but are VAs planning to use it ?

I think Euroharmony should have a written exam for every promotion. It doesn't have to be mandatory for a promotion, but it would be cool to take and to have a badge that says you passed this exam, that exam, etc. Also, what about a virtual "pilot pay" system. I've seen it in other VA's and it turned out successful.
Those are just my thoughts. :>;D;)
-
Hi,
Thank you all for your comments. Surely they will be used to make our VA even better.
Regards,
-
I Think the exam thing won't work and be used when it's not mandatory, and i think there are enough 'badges' in shape of awards. The idea of bringin salaries for pilots will encourage them i think. At other VA's they are very enthusiastic about it. They can spend it on the Virtual Airline Stockmarket, or earn private flights, not on the timetable.
Overall this VA is the most diverse, friendly and well organised i've ever seen!
Happy landings!
Justin

Virtual pilot pay will be pretty cool ;D

Yup a finance system would be pretty cool......any chances that makes it possible for us to tie up with vastock.com again once they've restarted? they've revamped the entire financial system entirely and is looking pretty good to me (beta testing it currently)
