Is it just me or is the fleet 747-400 hard to fly?? I can get the old girl off the deck but can i get her to turn...can i ****** ! I tend to use the autopilot heading bug when given vectors by ATC, i input the heading, engage autopilot and select heading mode, the aircraft banks but doesnt actually change course?? Even if i disengage A/P and try to hand fly her, she still wont turn....very odd?? Any suggestions chaps?? Cheers, Jim

Been a while since I "played" in the 747, but it's MCP (autopilot) is all but the same as a 737... only thing I can think of is to make sure you have LNAV disabled.
My FS went base-over this weekend, so I am going to have to reinstall before I can test it for myself (sorry I can't be any more help...)

Hi Jim,
I used to have the exact same problem with the turning, took about half an hour to go 90 degrees, and need the space of Wales to do it in!
I think I did something to fix it, but I can't remember what it was now....sorry :(

Cheers guys...atleast it's not just me being daft!! If anyone remembers, let me know, if not then guess i'll just have to wait for the PMDG !!!;D

Same here can not get it to turn. I can also remember Ben flying the boeing to Heathrow when I was on APP there. He had to make a 180 deg turn. I had to hand him back to CTR and I think he even left his airspace again before he made the turn.:>

Oh yes, funny how moments like that stick in your memory :8

Ben, could you post a copy of your aircraft config file for the ehm-747400 so i can see if you made any changes???

Hi folks!
I have the same problem since I changed to FS2004. Solving is very simple ;D Since our 747 has the same flight dynamics like the default 747-400, if you copy the default 747-400's AIR-file over our 747 AIR file, than it will solve the problem. So:
copy ..FS9\Aircraft\b747-400\boeing747-400.air > ..\ehm_744v2\Boeing747-400-MR-MKIII.air
I am sorry that I reported this only now, but I myself discovered the solution only yesterday. I thought that I must edit the CFG file but that did not help really. I worked on it since weeks, but it did not worked quite well. The secret is inside the AIR file ;)
I will analize airplanes one by one and every dynamics bug will be removed. I will add my own additional fix to this plane as well.

Please confirm, if it helped, because now, the Jumbo flies like a Cessna at me ;)

Thanks Robert, at work at the moment but will try when i get home...i assume the AIR file is with in the main aircraft folder somewhere?? Will post later when i have tried. Cheers, Jim

Hi folks. My 744 is flying alright in FS 2004,
very slow reactions, but I think this depends on the weight and size of that fat duck
but it really sounds like a cessna........
Greets!

I guess that explains why i have such a hard time landing that plane than compared to the other planes.........will try that and report back! ;)
