Title: Class 1 Aircraft
Post by: EMH-1627 on April 26, 2005, 03:13:40 pm
i was getting all ready to go on my first flight for euro harmony.

when i took off the parking brake the plane started to move forward, and it was as though i had got the throttle on.  I checked all the throttle info and there was evidently no throttle at all???

this was really confusing, and i tried with all class 1 planes.  i don't know is this is because it is a prop plane, and that they all do this, as when flying (not for euro harmony) i only use the jets, which don't do this.

This is very confusing, and don't know if it is something i am doing.  allthough it is possible to fly the plane, when i came to taxiing (sorry don't actually know how to spell) i went really fast and had to keep hitting the brakes, and when i came into land i had real issues actually trying to stop the plane!!

Please Help

Hi Chris!

First of all welcome at EuroHarmony Virtual Airline.

Could you please tell us which aircraft you mean?

Hi chris,

It could be that you would need to actually cut the propellors , as parking brakes are there to stop the plane rolling ;). You will find that most prop planes will roll, and tend not to require throttle for taxiing (don't know about real life though....)

Hi Chris!

In the future all prop planes will be edited to not roll at idle speed. If you want to do it yourself now, than you can edit the following parameter in the aircraft.cfg file:

[propeller]
...
minimum_on_ground_beta  = 0.0

By this, your plane surely will not roll without thrust.

Good luck, and welcome to EuroHarmony!
