Title: Euroharmony AI
Post by: EHM-1437 Jon on May 05, 2005, 12:06:51 am
Hello all.  I have downloaded and installed the Euroharmony AI package for FS2002.  I followed all the intstructions and downloaded EVERY plane and installed them all, except the Concorde, which I will do soon.  But when I have AI traffic on 100%, I hardly see ANY Euroharmony aircraft at most airports...maybe two at the maximium.  AI is at 100%.  Whats the problem?

It is -I guess- a common problem. 100% traffic setting is not enough. You need brand new AFCAD files for the airports as well, which store the number of available gates. If you have too few gates, the planes cannot show up, or after they landed they magically disappear from the runway. Default airport configs contain too few gates.

The AI traffic you mentioned, contains too much EHM flights. If you have the modified airport AFCAD files installed -like Heathrow with 120 gates- you will probably see tooooo much EHM planes sitting at the gates. Although it looks very nice :)

For AFCAD files go to AVSIM.com, and browse the FS2002 AFCAD files folders for the files. Then you need the AFCAD program to install them. It is very simple. Open the downloaded -txt format- AFCAD file by the editor and say Save in the menu, and it will replace your factory default airport. Take care, as these files contain some other things, like open or close some runways. It can be good too, as you can do a 2 runway airport with 1 for takeoff and 1 for landing -if the airport have 2- and not use only one for all. So it can be good for other things as well. Usually the AFCAD creators will put down inside the package what the file is designed for.

For FS2004, AFCAD files are simple BGL files. You must place it inside FS9/ADDON SCENERY/SCENERY folder and it will loaded automatically, that is it :)

Our current and realistic timetable was transported into the FS flightplan format by one of our pilots, I will contact him how the project is working, so we can soon expect realistic EHM AI aircraft appereances.

Thanks for the reply!  So, I need to go to Avsim.com and download every single afcad file so that I have all airports updated with afcad?  Or is there a big file with the files I need?

Oh no, they are separated, there is not 1 big download file :) My tactics was, when I prepared for a flight, and it led me a new destionation, then, before I always checked for available scenery and AFCAD files. If I found any, I installed them and started FS only after ;)

with the Euro Harmony AI download...if i don't have all the planes installed, does it matter if i leave them on the list???
Title: Euroharmony AI
Post by: EHM-1001 Robert on May 06, 2005, 07:29:23 pm
No it does not matter. In case FS cannot see an aircraft in the aircraft folder, then it will simply not present in the game.

ahh great...thanks.

one other thing is that when i looked at the file with the list of planes in, i have noticed that some are missing, and some apear twice, is this a problem???

No it is not. there is not all models available, so you can replace them with available models :)

so basically i can just change the words to the models that i have...i can handle that!!!

if i want tot add more planes to the list, but don't have enough numbers, what do i do??

Creating a new number in the list will not make simply a new airplane appear in the game. The flightplan list must contain the new number also. So the flightplan number refers to the aircraft IDs. If a brand new ID was created, which never used in any rows of the flightplan file, than that airplane simply not existed for the game.

If you want to know where your AI traffic is and how it's sceduled find and download AI traffic mover (AITM) it's freeware, but I can't remember from where I took it. Try ProjectAI or AVSIM, well you know your way. There are several versions v1.2 is for FS2002 and v2 is for FS9 good luck.

The AI works perfectly well with FS9, so don't worry. The paccage doesn't contains the whole fleet and flights but is big fun.

Nice work guies, plenty of EHM at EGLL. Do they even depart at the correct time in FS?
Title: Euroharmony AI
Post by: EHM-1001 Robert on May 20, 2005, 09:00:37 pm
Yes they do. The flightplans are accurate to the timetable. If you set the time in FS according to the flight, then you will probably fly the same route next to an AI aircraft. :)

For me it seems there is too much traffic, at LPPT every gate was taken by EHM planes, and wouldnt let anything land (they dissapear once they clear the rw, you know), even once you take off you begin to hear about 5 heavy a/c on the radio channel (DEP) but you have none in visual distance.

It appears a bit odd, but oh well, very nicely made anyways.:)

The answer is in getting new AFCAD files for the airports which have more gates. But if you can't be bothered thaen you willl just have to put up with it. ;)

Nice work Robert! In asnwer to folks complaing of too much AI from EHM this is an inevitable result of a heavy schedule for our Hubs ... more of a timetable than any real airline I would suggest.
