Here's a topic that is for those of us that like to take our hobby a little more seriously by using additional hardware to simulate the less obvious controls.
Specifically, I would like to solicit opinions on GoFlight panel suppliers within Europe along with online contact details.
To start with, my opinion of the "official" UK supplier of GF hardware, [ RC Simulations (http://www.rcsimulations.com/switch.htm) ], is that anyone in the UK thinking of buying anything from these people is urged to avoid them; simply put they are hideously overcharging for import products (practically dollars-to-pounds, when the exchange rate on PayPal is $1.86 to £1). On a product like the VMAX yoke, RC want you to pay £500. If you get it direct from VMAX in the States you'll pay $549! Even if you are unlucky enough to get hooked by customs (and there are some simple techniques you can follow to make this less likely) for import duties and VAT, you'll still be saving money. Also, they are very slow in keeping up with GF - the GF ATC panel and rudder pedals have been available for months now (at least 6 months), yet RC still are not listing either of them, even for pre-order.
I give them 1 out of 5.

Come on folks, I really can't do this thread by myself...
A European shop this time (as recommended by Dimitris Pantoleon on the GoFlight Forum) - [ SimWare (http://www.simw.com/) ]
Based in Belgium, and according to Dimitris a good supplier. Their prices seem to be fair, and they have some really great looking hardware...
As a treat for all the other Boeing fanboys (and girls) out there - [ A USB 737 throttle quadrant (http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=823) ]! And only €3,100.00
-
Lol, only!
They have a lot of good stuff on there...it is a real shame about the prices (well I suppose they are fair....just that it's way out of my priceband). My wish-list forms...
And for those of you who havn't watched this video....you will be speechless!

(File size is rather large - but over 22mins of video)

Only question I have is "is it servo'ed already, or would I have to splash out on a servo set as well to have it do true auto-throttle?"
;D
-
I'd stick with a budget if I were you and not have it move like that:%
-
Hehehe - no guts, no glory Ben...
The auto-throttle hardware (not the quadrant itself, I must hasten to add) is actually pretty cheap and dead easy to control.
Have a look at [ http://www.phidgetsusa.com/fs/auto_throttles_guide.asp ]

I recently looked into this. I was a bit surprised by the prices however! I will need to save a lot of money first:[

Hey Murray,
How much do you think that one he has made costs? If he says all out of ever-day material, can't be that much :P

Depends on how much you feck up making your prototypes ;D

Hehe....guess we are in the 10s of thousands with me at it :]

Wee, looks like I *am* going to have to build this thread myself...
In my browsing round the intarweb I came across [ Luchtvaart Hobby Shop (http://www.lhshop.nl/?shopid=LM42a014daa2abe61be4e787abfe&parent_id=276) ] (link goes to their Flight Simulation section). They claim to be huge (and just looking quickly through their FS section, I am inclined to believe them).
They are located in The Netherlands, their pricing seems fair for GoFlight stuff (same as every other European supplier I have seen, somewhere close to $ to €) and their P&P costs are very reasonable (only want €10 to ship the very heavy GoFlight rudder pedals to the UK!)

Well, I found out this site on the aerosoft - website, perhaps It´ll be interesting

The thread was supposed to be for GoFlight suppliers, but what the heck...
I've been using [ TransAir (http://www.transair.co.uk) ] for the more real-world stuff I've been purchasing recently (my 737NG FMC Guide, and my 737NG Cockpit Companion came from TransAir). They have a shop at Shoreham Airport, BTW...
