Title: EHM Flight Logger...
Post by: EHM-1437 Jon on May 08, 2005, 12:44:15 am
Hey all.  I can run the Flight Logger just fine, but when I hit the Update button to update the schedules, a box comes up saying this:

Run-time error '9':
Subscript out of range

Any way to fix this?  I just installed the VB6 Runtime Files and it still does this.  Please post ASAP.

Thanks!

I am going to be with Armando Chibante today, personally.

Going to ask him how can we correct that error.

I am still analysing it ...

The strange thing is that this depends from computer do computer.. On Armando's computer that doesn't happen, but on mine it happens...

Wait more news ....

Hey thanks for the reply.  I did some research on Runtime error 9 and on some sites it says it has to do with registry errors such as not uninstalling software properly, stuff like that.  I found some software to fix this BUT its all this shareware crap and u can only scan for errors and not fix them unless u buy it.  I don't think so.  I've been searching for other software to fix it but can't find any.

Thanks, and keep me posted! :>

Roger that.  Hopefully the CEO will have an answer soon.  Take a look at this page!  Found some great free stuff to free up memory and make your PC faster.  But pay attention to the license type so you know you are getting the free stuff, not the shareware, etc.  Most of it is free!  The stuff I have tried has not fixed the Runtime error 9, but it is making my PC faster.  Then again, I havn't tried all the freeware programs yet, so maybe one is there to fix the Runtime error 9.

Thanks!

Hello all.  Any luck yet on finding an answer to this problem, Mr. CEO?  Not trying to rush you or anything like that, but in my case this problem is a real problem.  Sorry if I seem to be rushing you, but i'm not. :>;D

No problem Jon! :)

The problem is happening on my computer too, and I talked to Armando Chibante about it ..
Well, in his machine this don't happen so we are getting a little difficult on tracking the error :( ..

Let's wait a little bit more ... Also, there is almost getting out a new Flight Logger version ;) (And this problem doesn't happen because I tested it out) ..

Kindly Regards,

yay new version...so this new one does not have the same problems, but does it still look similar, and is as easy to use.

the one thing i found about the current one was that you couldn't show flights for a particular day.  like you can on the web based timetable.
will this fearure be in the new version?

Well, unfortunately no. But we can think about it.

This new version will have many new features like, placing your airplane on a gate automatically, sending IVAO pireps, send more information to our ACARS system, will include the Tour flights, between other things that I don't remember ...

Wow! automatic sending of IVAO pireps is a massive plus. It's annoying to have to do more than 1 copy of a pirep when you just want to fly!

Congrats with the new version!

Well, all I can say is that we are working hard to get it done as soon as possible.

The "Days" filter can be placed in a future version. We never forget our pilot's wishes.

but you're not supposed to run out of fuel! :o :] doesnt that count as a crash?
Title: EHM Flight Logger...
Post by: EHM-1627 Chris on May 19, 2005, 10:44:17 am
i dunno...it wasn't my fault...d**n head wind...slowed me rite down!!

are you ment to set it up so that you can never run out of fuel then?
Title: EHM Flight Logger...
Post by: EHM-0962 Zhen Yi on May 19, 2005, 11:57:10 am
i'm just saying that maybe you should have adjusted your cruise speed according to the headwind/tail wind that you get
Title: EHM Flight Logger...
Post by: EHM-1539 Pierre on May 19, 2005, 12:31:13 pm
Knowing the wind is part of the preparation of the flight.
Not having 45 mins reserve in IFR is illegal ;)
Adjust your flight level when you have strong headwind...
If you can't... call a flying tanker ;D

Post by: EHM-1627 Chris on May 19, 2005, 01:06:36 pm
yeah i had reserve fuel...but couldn't work out how to use it...or if it uses automatically then i have no idea why i ran out?

i think that it is just best to fill the plane right up, this way i shouldn't run out!!!:>
Title: EHM Flight Logger...
Post by: EHM-1617 Iain on May 19, 2005, 05:33:39 pm
chris, when we talk about reserve fuel, we mean putting enough fuel for the journey in the tanks, and then some more cause I always underestimate, and then some more as reserve fuel, and then adjust to make way for the headwind, this way u will never run out.

also if u can see that you are not going to make your destination, then divert to the alternate instead.

yeah i have only just realised now how to do the whole divert thing!!!

and i now understand...hopefully though i will not have the same problems.
