Well guys, thoses of you who live in the UK I hope missed the final episode of Doctor Who to watch the C4 2 hour documentary on the making of the A380.
I thought it was very informative and well presented. I didn't realise how hard it was for them to getall the parts together on time.
I liked the bit where there was the film of the A340 with a Trent 900 engine it was so comical. Also the bit when they did the engine fan blowout was pretty spectacular.
But I got a little worried when they showed that the landing gear manual cranking system didn't work, even after they coated it with teflon.
And my dad was really suprised when the video of the famous 747 VHH(X) landing came on. I said to him "747 Kai Tak International, closed, heavy crosswind. The left main gear takes the whole weight of the plane." Afterwards, the commentator guy pretty much repeated my words and my dad said "How did you know that?". Actually he didn't say that. He inserted a four letter word beginning with 'f'.
Anyway comments on the show are welcome. And you don't need have watched the show to post in this thread.

Have not seen this one, but probably the equivalent last week on french TV...
Quite impressive indeed.

Hehe, I have seen the similar content on Discovery Channel, they told it is an exclusive report :)

Yeah, I saw it! It was very cool and the test pilots were funny!
I think all the companys have shared the rights to show it.

What about when the engineer guy was saying that there was an unusual white mark on the engine. The pilot comes to inspect and he waves it away as if it was nothing saying in his thickly accented and very funny english (to english people):
"It is nothing. It is a bird s***!" The pilot had so thickly accented English it was so funny - me and my dad were laughing all the way through the adverts.

I also watched it on the discovery channel a few weeks ago. It was nice to see how difficult the logistics are to get one of these togheter.

It was great last night, i didn't do a flight becasue i wanted to watch it instead:]
I love the interior adn it was funny when the test pilots wanted to know about the ashtray and where to put chewing gum, and the pilot suggested under the seat, thats my new ambition in life, to become an A380 pilot! ;D
