Title: ATC Versus ATIS
Post by: EHM-1442 Luis on November 12, 2005, 03:21:08 pm
During the flight LPPT(Lisbon - Portugal) - GMMN(Casablanca - Morocco), offline with FS2004's ATC, i was following the GMMN APP 's instructions , when suddenly, appeared in top of the screen the ATIS msg and from this moment never more, I obtained to answer to the ATC.....
Both, ATC and ATIS are in the same radio frequencie.
The solution was change the radio frequencie and forget ATC help.
Is it a fs2004 bug or my installation bug?
Do you know if fs2004 has an option to disable the ATIS recorded msg?
all commentaries are wellcome

That's odd as there is no ATIS at GMMN or any of the surrounding airports. It may have been a bug - I was once over France and got  ATIS showing on the screen list from an airport in the west of the UK.

Hi Bill,

The ATIS info was from GMSL(Sidi Slimane),and the frequencie 125,10, the same that Casablanca.
On the ATC window, there is no option for ATIS....this appeared suddenly and never stopped...like a parrot.

Hi Luis,

Do you use any kind of weather software like ASV. Because I know theres an option in ASV where if you turn your radio to a certain freq you will get something like what you are talking about. Otherwise I'm clueless

Hi Karsten

No weather addon.
I was flying with real weather from FS2004.
I thing it is a bug on Fs.

I had a similar experience when doing a VFR tour of Ireland. I kept receiving ATIS mesages from an airport which had the smae frequency as the one I was flying to, but was 100 miles away. It's a bug in FS.
