Title: A \'landing trianer\'
Post by: EHM-1358 Tim on May 08, 2004, 06:09:38 pm
Ive got this idea (cos' I know weve got some good prgramers here at EHM).
We could make a landing trainer. Seeing if your landings are 'on target'. Ive made a screen using a landing of project fokker website.

It would consist of a windowed box is FS with something like To far from threshold.

You would be able to switch on and off a line for the runway that your landing on.
After you have landed it would fill out a report on your landing and how to improve it. It would also have voice saying something like Right on threshold or (meter(s)) infront/behind.

Here a pick I drew up, tried to make it my best.:$

Please tell me if you could make such a thing. or ways to improve it.

Is it really important?

I dont think a landing thing is that important, after all there's always ILS landings for that matter no?

Just my 2 cents,

Alex;)

(However the voice thing I think has more of an importance I think)

I think it's a great idea! I mean it would help in polishing my landing skills back up after a long break and well let me compare my landing with a 'perfect' one.......if that programme is possible to make i'll definitely use it! ;D

Such a program would be quite hard to make as you have to integrate it in FS (which is not easy at all).

A much more easier way would be to create a xml gauge for this (however it'll need to be installed in every panel), unfortunately I don't know how to program gauges. :[

Hi,
maybe you don't remember, but FS2002/2004 have an option to help landing.
FS2002: - goto Menu, Aircraft, Navigation,EFIS and activate the option like this

FS2004 - goto Menu, Aircraft, Visual Flight Path and enable the option like this

Hope this can help

Bye bye
