Below is a mail from Mr Luis Graça PT-EC and Paulo Pinto PT-EAC. For more information, monitor http://www.ivaopt.org .
Dear Sirs,
As many of you should know by now, Portugal will be the host of the European
Championship 2004 that will take place between 12th June and 4th July. This is
the biggest and most important sport event organized by the UEFA and will
gather 16 international football teams that will compete to win this
prestigious football trophy. As you can imagine, this event will produce an
abnormal amount of air traffic flying to and from our country, as logistic and
supporters need to be transported. We, at IVAO-PT, would like to emulate this
reality by providing an event that, with your cooperation and interest, should
become one of the biggest events in our airspace in terms of duration and
countries involved.
Sixteen countries will compete in the European Championship 2004:
- Portugal (host)
- France
- Sweden
- Czech Republic
- Greece
- England
- Italy
- Germany
- Spain
- Croatia
- Denmark
- Netherlands
- Russia
- Switzerland
- Bulgaria
- Latvia
Ten football stadiums should become the field of the competition and they are
located in all the three main land areas of Portugal (North, Center and
South). Three international airports are ready for this event, as well as some
military bases that will serve as alternate airports and/or parking
facilities.
We encourage all the VA's and IVAO members of the participant countries to
join this international event, by planning their flights in order to provide
the virtual airspace with the most realistic environment possible, simulating
the flights that will take the supporters and logistics to Portugal during the
schedule days of the competition. We, at IVAO-PT, will provide all the
necessary ATC service and domestic flights, contributing to the "heavy skies"
that we all hope for this event and making this a participated one. But
remember that this will be a ruled event, with a slot system and schedule
flights, as this is the way we found to be the most realistic.
All the information will be presented in our webpage at http://www.ivaopt.org
in a short period of time. There, you'll find the Competition's Event Site
with all the information that pilots will need, such as Calendar (this will
determine the flight schedule), the list of airports and preferred routes for
the flight-plans, the slot system and many other information regarding the
event.
Keep an eye in this event and enjoy it. Come fly to the IVAO Network.
Best Regards
IVAO-PT

Hi,
A couple of things to mention,
First of all I'm interested in the fly-in from Spain to Faro the 11 of June.
However there are NO flights fromt he country of Spain to Faro, but I still want to bear the EHM callsign, so I put in as flight number EHM-0744 since that flight doesnt exist, If I'm doing anything wrong please say.
Second, I've been looking at Gergely's guide to online flying since all goes well for me (I have not tried voice yet, until I get the rest sorted out). However, my only problem is that I cannot see the other planes, & I also see that when I start FS2004 after starting SB Relay 1.2, there are no multyplayer sessions in my list of FS2004...
My FS version is in Spanish, which may cause some problems...
Thanks,
Alex;)
-
Hi, do you have a Internet Router or something like that. We you can use the internet with many Pc's. That might be the problem.
-
No, only my comp. to a normal internet connection, however its not ADSL though.
-
C'mon people!!!
On the 11 from Greece to LPPR, and from Russia and Spain to LPFR!
Am I the only one that will be there from EHM? (I'll have to go w/ text though)
C'mon its this friday, you choose the hour too.
Cheers!
Alex;)
-
I registered for today's UUEE-LPFR. I think I'll fly on the next days too. :)
-
I'm registered for today; this weekend I'm out of cockpit :(
-
Today i´ll fly LEM-LPFR!
Yesterday i did LGAV-LPPR :)
-
ok....
Big problem for me, when I try to connect to IVAO with my ID and password it either says Attempt to connect timed out, or invalid password or username, however it let me registrate the flight with the same Id and password!
Help needed,
Thanks... alex:{
-
Try with another IVAO server, I also experienced this error on IVANFR, but I managed to connect to IVANGR or IVANDE.
-
Tried a couple of more servers, not responding message is gone, but now it says my passowrd and username is incorrect or invalid... or whatever, is there a place on ivao so that it can send it back to your email?
-
Alex,
i checked on ivao pages and your account is Inactive so you cant log in.
Go to this page:

I´m totally insane... here in Portugal, all people are crazy!! it´s something...
Tomorrow will be the great day!! We Will win!!!!!!!!!!!
:>
Go Portugal!!
-
Actually, I would be quite scared, Greece is best against "I will win teams", just ask anybody from the Czech Republic if they thought they would win before the match, or the French, or the Portuguese, hey! Only Spain didnt lose (oh, and Russia) against Greece.
Anyway, I'm hoping for Portugal to win, deserves it more than Greece in my opinion.
Cheeeeeers,
Alex;)
-
Greece has an very defensive system, so i´m expecting a very hard game for Portugal...
Let the best win!! And hope that the best will be Portugal!
:];D:>

Bad news guys it looks like Greece won :| :[ the portuguese were great in attack but unfortunately not good enough in defence and allowed greece to pop that one goal in
