Please, please, please could someone give me a very detailed step by step guide for installing and running everything needed to do online flying on FS2004.
Thanks a lot
Rich

Try downloading the online flying manual from the suggested downloads page. :)
-
bnriefly:
- d/l and install sbrelay, squawkbox, fsuipc, hostsb.dll
* in FS, register squawkbox with fsuipc
* start sbrelay
* in FS, Multiplayer > Join the sbrelay session
- in FS, start HostSB
- start squawkbox (it will appear in FS, in the hostsb window)
- enter your pilot details in squawkbox and connect
* means that it's only for fs2004 (isn't needed for 2002)

Hi again,
I forgot to mention that I have tried to use the online flying manual but it is too broad and best suited to FS2002.
Thanks for the directions mate but I really need a very detailed version i.e. where each file goes ect and how exactly to register squakbox with fsuipc, I have no idea what that means?
Also, do I need some form of audio input device for online flying or can I use the standard ATC window?
Cheers
Rich ;D

you should be able to find more details from the readmes of the softwares required......
Sorry but i cant provide much help on this :[

Rich
I understand where you are coming from, trying to get online can be a nightmare, I tried the manuals and just eneded up pulling my hair out. This call for help I see so often and the stock reply is always 'Read the manual' or go to IVAO or vatsim site.
Whilst all these sites are helpful, they do not help much if (when) you start having problems or conflicts.
I first got online with help from 2 EHM members on IVAO, more recently I have been flying on Vatsim, but in both cases I have recieved help.
If you wish to fly on IVAO I cant help you much but if you want to try Vatsim, then visit www.hawarden.org.uk (http://www.hawarden.org.uk)
Go to the hawarden airport link. There are some very helpful flash tutorials and if you have teamspeak, then Andy King has a teamspeak pilots helproom and will talk you through the process.
Good Luck
Roll on Squawkbox 3 when everything will hopefully be simpler.

would you mind checking the link.? I get an message that the page can not be found
-
Works fine here...
And Rich, I agree with you... I spent more then 10 years around computers and only 3 around aviation, and belive me, the second one is infinitely more rewarding ;D.
But mixing them is pretty fun ;D
-
Real wprld aviation or virtual?
Cheers
Rich
;D
-
Real world aviation for the last 3 years, virtual aviation for the last 5 years. ;D
-
Cool, what do you do in the real world? I am currently studying for my JAA PPL in the UK.
Cheers
Rich
;D

Cool Rich, Im only 13 so I cant get a PPL. But Im going to ask British Airways about work experiance. But when I do that is in quite some time. But that would be really cool.;D
-
I got my ATP and Turbine transision at Palm Beach helicopter school last december :>
-
Looks like we do have a few real world pilots here! :)
-
I only fly gliders (for the last 3 years) and I will begin training on a Romanian built VLA (Very Light Aircraft) this weekend... oh, and I'm currently studying Aircraft Engineering. ;D
Nice to know we have some real pilots around ;D
-
I'm enrolling into the Royal Netherlands Airforce next year August. Flying Apaches, and maybe the F-16
That's why I first got my private citizens licences...to make it easier for me when i'm in the airforce ;D
-
But you live in the USA. WOnt they acept you?
-
My dad is Dutch.. so I have both nationalities ;)
-
Cool Rich, Im only 13 so I cant get a PPL.
Tim, I'm 16 and studying for my PPL, you are able to study for it now. If you can't afford to get lessons, I suggest you buy some of the Jeremy Pratt PPL books, they are very useful and will teach you all the ground school you will need.
Cheers

Move to Curacao (TNCC)
Age there is 13 :D
-
13!? :o seems a tad too young to me......for flying that is.....
-
you can start taking lessons at 13... if you succeed you get a flying PERMIT..meaning..Untill ur 16th B-day, you cant fly without an lisenced pilot of at least 21 years old
-
ah......i see......that sounds much more reasonable
-
@ Rico,
Thats means I can take some flight lessons. Pitty its expensive.
-
it pretty much is... getting my all my helicopter pilot licences totalled me about US$ 72.480,=
-
US$ 72.480,=
Excuse me, is that 72 bucks or 72 thousand bucks?
-
seventy thousand four hundred and eighty dollars, 00 cents ;)

A Bell Jetranger 206 , SECOND HAND costs about half a million dollars ..so...not quite enough
-
Half a million!?!?!? I bet you could get cheaper on Ebay. :];)
-
What a killer price...i'd rather pursue my Ph.D with that kind of money.......but for you guys who love flying so much....i guess money is not an object....
-
Oh, but I fly for the police airborne division and for the Coast guard, so I'll have my 'investment money' back in less then an year ;D
-
Get yourself a Lancair Legacy, it costs 50000$ and it's a really nice plane, e.g. it goes with 250kts at FL140. :D
Ok, you have to glue it together, but still...

-

-
Sorry Rico, but Im totally jelous of your:@:]

-
This is why I love Romania: I got my glider pilot licence for winch and tow launch for about ~100$ ;D... And now I am also flying the IAR-46, a Romanian built very light aircraft ;D
-
Never knew working in that line could draw such a large pay packet
