In febuary, when i was flying a dash 8, on landing,my plane bounced hard on the runway but the weird thing was this,
as the plane landed,i braked and the plane started bouncing and soon the nose gear sank into the ground with front fuselage in the ground too but i did not crash.i had not downloaded flight logger than and i do not know if it is a crash.FS did not say that it was a crash.I tried reverse thrust to pull it out but didnt work.y does tis happen?

perhaps you were coming in too fast, what was your speed@?
-
i think i was about 180 to 230 kts.i experienced the bumping before in FS in a cessna 208 amphibian.i know i landed hard but it was the same as the cessna when i braked.
-
I believe there is a problem with the Dash 8, I have had this aircraft start to bounce then the nose gear collapsed twice while taxying at 15Kts, after a normal landing at 120Kts.

I have exprienced the same with the Dash 8-Q400. VS at landing acording to FSPassengers was 105ft/min and the when i was rolling out some speed on the runway(happened at around 30kn) the plane started bouncing and the nosegear collapsed or something, the nose went into the ground anyway but it's not recorded as an crash by FS

I think this is a scenery bug. I have not experienced such thing in FS2002, but more times in FS2004, and I feel it constantly on many airport sceneries. I think this is scenery bug, because I felt it at many airplanes but not always, rather always on the same airport, independent from the airplane.
The bouncing is growing by speed, so I can imagine that under propilot (crash is enabled) the front gear really collapses at this airports.
Another thing is try not to come in at 180kts with a Class3 turboprop. 120-130 is more than enough ;)

does that explain my problem with the cessna 208?
-
Well, I do not know. I do not like amphibians, so I have not fly any of them.

This has happened to me before.
I was backing out in that new Cirrus (can't remember it's name) and I braked to hard, and it fell over, and I had a tail in the ground. I taxied to the runway with a tail in the ground!

Yeah, I've had the same problem too but I've never known what it was and always just assumed it was some graphical error with the default scenery... wierd...!

Join me in the list for the same. I have had some serious problems with Dash Q-100 as well. Of course this was when I played offline, not on pro-pilot or EHM either, but just in general at home. An all perfect approach to the runway, as soon as I was established on the localizer, I thought I should do a manual landing instead of ILS approach hold. No sooner I released the autopilot, the plane started behaving very oddly and just went off control. I had to abort and close the flight. It was only with the Dash that I encountered that problem.
Regarding the nose wheel going down, FS I think does have some kind of a mechanism as to when a hard landing is done, the wheels does seem to "sink" into the ground, but that does not indicate a crash, as I have seen that on hard landing, my wheels go stuck but I don't get the message called crash. So I guess its all the same situation. What's causing this .. am not sure, but I think I can blame it on scenery too may be!!
Let try one thing, it this occurs again, lets post the following so that we can have some kind of tracking
1. Airport
2. Plane used
3. Landing speed kts and fpm

I had similar problems with the Dash-8 at certain airports, and I found that the dash-8 does not like Macadam runways, I changed the runway surface to Concrete using AFCAD and the problem disappeared. Try this and see if it cures your problem.

Hey Bruce, thats really a cool observation. Need to put the Dash to test!!! :)
Hey Dash Q 100 - Q 400, you are in for some hard landing on Concrete ... and if you collapse, then concrete is not your friend either ... we will downgrade to grass and check then!!! LOL
