Wassup fellow Pilots
I wanted to ask If some one could explain to me what this Project Ai is... what it does, what it consists of etc etc
after that I'd like to know where I could get Project AI
In the screen shots on this forum it looks very nice and realistic.. very cool

You can get their downloads at www.projectai.com (http://www.projectai.com). Just follow the instructions provided either on the website or in the downloads and you can install their packages, which consists of the flightplan, the textures and descriptions of the aircrafts. I'm not sure if they include the low polygon models in them though......if not you could download the paint kit to get them. And also remember to download their installer to install their packages.
Project AI is.........well a large group of people who creates realistic flight plans for the ai planes for use in Flight Simulator.
(Please correct me if i'm wrong anywhere! :P )

Ive got some of there planes and there really good. You might need to get AFCAD and some files to see all of the planes!
-
I would just like to say Project AI is amazing!!! You shouldn't need to download AFCAD as the program already decompiles and compiles all of the files automatically into AFCAD. ;D
Cheers

AFCAD is still required so that you can edit airports to cope with more realstic amounts of traffic, editing parking spaces, changing the way the runways are operated, etc. Otherwise if you install lots of project ai you get scenes as shown on the screenshot forum with about 30 planes queueing to take off.

First of all, if you don't install AFCAD files, there won't be as many planes as in the screenshots... default AFCAD layouts of the airports have just a few gates, and in FS2002 only one rwy is active at a certain time.
Second, you need the AFCAD program (v1.4) for FS2002 to install the new files you download from the Internet, or edit the layouts by yourself.
For FS2004, you don't need the AFCAD program (only v2.20 or higher work for FS2004), as the files you download are already bgl's... you would only need it if you want to edit the layouts yourself...
Sounds odd, but makes sense ;)

Yeah I understand what you are saying, with the default amount of parking there won't be as many aircraft in the first place. I just meant that because there is usually only one runway open as default, you get the problem of aircraft unable to take off because of landing traffic all the time and the FS ATC unable to cope properly.
Obviously if you use afcad you can change it to have more than one runway operating. :)

If you use ProjectAI its better to update your airports with as many parking spots as possible. If not you can easily get a situation like I did:
After landing at Zurich the ground could not give me taxi clearance because there was not any free spots. After I installed a modified AFCAD fior Zurich I had incredible high amount of traffic, but I could park with my plane ;)
-
I installed FS2004 last night and made just a few flights... but it appears to me that the ATC doesn't use just one rwy... can anyone confirm?
-
With the modified AFCAD filed you will have more parking spaces, but unfortunantly also pretty low frame-rates if you have a slow computer (like me for instance :[)... but you can adjust the amount of AI traffic in the settings...
-
And does the Project AI only provide flightplans for AI or do the planes already come painted also.... cuz I saw only real airlines in the screens...not the silly airlines you get with FS
-
They provide some full packages, with aircraft and flightplans, wich are easily installed with their installer...
Also, there are a lot of repaints and flightplans that you can install manually...
Check their webpage for the available packages...
