Title: I don\'t understand
Post by: EHM-1883 Matt on July 02, 2006, 06:39:15 pm
I just did a pro pilot flight, and at the end, I got a penalty rating of 1250, even though I did all the things it said I didn't do.

The only thing I should have got a penalty for was forgetting to set the QNH, but the rest, I didn't do, and if I did do it, it didn't tell me while flying. Is this just a bad bug, or is it my computer?

Probably your piloting, what penalties did it say you got...I remember a flight when i got plenty of penalties for excessive G-Forces, (Cant think why:$)

Gives us a bit more info!

there was one for G forces, and a few of overspeeding, but I had the autopilot on and i had checked the speed

Those I possible could have got, but the one that I certainly shouldn't have got was the Beacon Lights with the Engine On. I always have the lights on even when the engines off!

Were you using PMDG by any chance? because there are known bugs with that.

The aircraft was an E170...

1) This can occur quickly, at any time the aircraft is below FL100. Did you slew with the engines on, or encounter a wind layer, or some other way exceed 280?

2) Both G-factor penalties probably occured in the same incident. The high positive G could have occured with over-enthusiastic rotation on takeoff, or even rapid entry into a climb.

3) The parking brakes penalty - check to always make sure that you have them on when the engines are off. Perhaps you accidently pressed (.), even if you straight away put them on again.

4) Same as above. Maybe an accident? Maybe the wrong light switch?

1) Yes, I did encounter Wind, so that one could be solved
2) Probably happened while I was landing
3) I remember putting on the Parking Brakes, so I don't know
4) I haven't a clue!

thanks for helping!

That's very wierd, Matt. I haven't had anything like this happen to me before, all of the penalties I've gotten have been true! :$

Hi Matt,

Try to cruise about 20 to 30kts below the overspeed, that way, a sudden wind wont blow you overspeed like what happened to me(it blew me 20kts overspeed)

Regards

good Advice Javier...
I would say not that much below overspeed, about 15kts - 20kts perhaps...

I'd stick to 20-30kts. Remember the other time when i mentioned about the wind blowing me 30kts in a split second...;)
