Post by: EHM-0641 Rico on May 18, 2004, 09:22:29 pm
When I go to EuroHarmony.com I get this message:  Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.euroharmony.com Port 80

........  I hope we're not going towards an BC again  :s

Website back up.

The problem is under investigation, but it annoys me that this happened two times shortly after eachother. :|

It seems we all had the same problem with access to our web site. This is corrected now, and let's hope there is no another BC on the horizon.

There must be an easier an more reliable way for doing this, like backing up the entire pilot database....
BTW... is there a backup harddisk or anything on the new server?

Precisely because of the Great Crash, Maarten
has implemented some counter measures
to avoid a complete loss of data if
such catastrophic thing happens again.

On the other hand, the only safe computer
is one in a nuke-prouf bunker, switched
-off- and unplugged from the network.
And a comet colliding with earth might
still manage to smoosh it really good.
So, there is no 100% safety...

Ciao ciao!

Hmmm. Can't help you with that Manu.
I'm running a little short of completly selfreliant-atomic-bunkers.

Website back-up: At least ones a week: on Sunday evening. Sometimes twice a week: second back-up in the middle of the week.

Database back-up: every day (evening)

There is a second harddisk on a RAID controller which has a copied version of the website, but when a server crashes, it is possible that both harddisks are not functional anymore.
