It has been a long time since a topic like this has(etc.Introduce yourself) been created, so i thought of making one;D Hope this one catches on like the others. Got the idea from another forum.
I'll start with me
I started with FS2004 last December and flew a Cessna 172 from seattle and ended with a nice bumpy landing:]

FS2000....ages ago....
My first serious flight was with FS2002 PRO and It was a nice VFR flight from Newcastle to Teesside, my two local airports, using the C182S
-
My first flight was on FS2000 and i started with the concord and failed lol
-
I remember it was FS98 at one friend´s house. We started watching each other fly to see which of us lasted more in the air.:]
My first complete and satisfactory flight was done in FS98 too; it was Learjet 45 from KLAX to KLAS;)

My very first flight was at the ripe old age of 4, on a copy of FSFW95 that shipped with my old computer. I didn't have a joystick, and I took the introductory flight (a simple traffic pattern at Meigs Field). I followed the examiners instructions, and tried to level out at "One thousand five hundred and twenty-seven feet MSL (in that cheesy American accent). On climb out though, I wanted the plane to go up, so I pressed the up cursor key (equivalent to pressing the stick forward) and spent weeks trying to work out why the plane dived into the ocean!

My first version of Flight Simulator was FS4.1 (Dutch version, released on a diskette; massive storage! ;) ).
Can't remember my first flight, but I do remember my first EHM flight. It was also the first flight ever made for EuroHarmony! There's still a screenshot of it:

Mine was FS98. I never did a flight on that though.
My first ever PROPER flight was done on FS2004, and it was about two years ago. I remember it clearly. that whole time before, I was just learning about flying. It was in the DeHavilland Comet, and it was a small circuit around Kathmandu. The reason I say Proper, is because it was the first one I used proper procedures.
And by the way Maarten, it's weird that the first screenshot ever made here, is one of the best on the website!

Well, it has been rated 3 times so the rating says nothing about the quality. Actually, I think it's the most dull screenshot in the library, but it has some emotional value :).
-
really? I think it's a really nice, how the sun lights the picture up in that yellow-y way, and the plane fits quite nicely.
btw, what plane is that?
-
Can you believe that's an old Beech 1900D? :D

Hi Folks
heres my fist post after a long time of abstinence due to less time and building up an new pc.
My First flight was on the good old FS98 from Meigs Field to Chicago O´Hare and back..... don´t know how much C182-RG I crashed at that fields.
But after some training and getting confident in the Cessna I got an DeHavilland Twin Otter and went along germany out of my hometown Augsburg (EDMA)
My first flight for EHM had been on FS 2002 from LOWS to LSZH.
actually I´m using FS9 and hope my machine will be ready for FSX
althaugh I´m not sure if and when I turn to it.
Regards
Manu

MY first Flight Sim version went back to Flight Simulator '95... but my dad had a whole host of flight simulators. My first successful circuit was around Meigs Field, Chicago, in FS 98. I can't remember my first real flight from one place to another but I think it was in FS2000. Flight Simulators have certainly come a long way in the past 10 years...

I was a very lucky kid, because of my Dads job, we always had a lot of personal computers kicking around the house. My first ever real game was a copy of FS1 on an Apple II+ that my dad was given by work. I don't remember playing it for long as I was only 10 years old and it really didn't hold my attention. The first Flight simulator I remember playing to death was a game called Solo Flight made by a company called Microprose for the Commodore 64. I spent many nights flying the Witchita to Kansas mail run. I switched back to Flight Simulator 2 on the Amiga and have pretty much stuck with it ever since seeing virtually every version.

Since you guys started talking about first EHM flight, i'll add in mine.
Flight 1156 from EHAM to EHRD in a B1900D. this happened 3 days after i joined EHM since i had no idea how to download a plane back then:]

One of the helicopter sims on the ZX Spectrum was my first - so long ago I can't remember the name. Never really bothered with flight on my Amiga (the original Falcon on the A500 being the exception that proves the rule). FS2000 Pro when I finally got round to the M$ offerings (still have it in a box at home somewhere...) Did the entire groundschool as the first thing.
-
First flight during SMAU 2004, the technological expo in Milan. I was there with my best friend at Microsoft stand and I tried FS 2004 with a cessna, I think a skylane but we pulled the cloche too early and crashed...not a good start but there started my passion for flights...
-
FS98, tried doing EGCC-EIDW, and my only navigation tool was an atlas, got about 20nm off course and crashed on landing.
It's funny how much I've learnt over the past few years!
-
I remember my first EHM flight clearly. EGLL-EGBB Sukhoi 80. I remember it clearly because I remember the first time I did it, Flight Logger didn't record it, so I had to do it again! (didn't know about manual Pirep system yet)
-
My first flight was with FS4. I used Cessna in a local flight around Meigs Field. I still have the floppy disk. It's here with me :]
-
Mine was FS1 with an Apple IIc computer back in 1984. Could you believe that I paid US$ 3000 for that computer that had one 5-1/4" driver. I still have it. FS1 came with two of those disks if I remember.
My first flight was from Meigs Field to Champaing-Urbana airport.
At that city was Sub-Logic, the company that first created FS.
I still keep the whole FS's family. One of these days I plan to re-create that FS1 first flight with the Apple. I hope it still works. I never expected that FS could reach the level that we enjoy today.
But the most surprising thing is that the price hasn't change that much.
