I am doing a research for physics about the sonic boom effects and I fount about this topic the history of Flight 006 of China Airlines on 9th February 1985. :o

I reckon I won't be able to repeat this thing on flight simulator too!!
What do you pilots think? Were the captains and the flight engineers a bunch of idiots or they were simply VERY unlucky?

Yikes, 30000ft in 2 and a half minutes, permanantly bent wings.....
Flight 006 reminds me of the sad SQ006 flight accident :'(:'(:'(
the Taiwan Aviation Safety Council investigated it and they blamed it most on SQ despite Singapore's findings :{

Idiots, IFR flying 101 : Thrust your artificials horizonS, not your internal hear.
They didn't respect the procedure (going manual and applying standard checklists and procedures), lucky them it ended well.
Not guessing the AP would apply maximum compensation is quite stupid too.
