Post by: EHM-0948 Bruno on October 18, 2006, 01:12:35 am
Hi fellows,

For those who are event-maniacs, I must inform you that the next event is almost finished.

The analysis part is done, where we had choosen all the legs and the baseline history for it.

I can give you some clues on it:

- Going to be much harder than the last one, with visual approaches and very short runways.

- Going to be in Africa.

- Going to have a Cargo Airplane.

- Going to have about 24 legs.

Start counting gentleman ... the next event is in countdown!

Regards,

sounds great - but for a first time eventer what way is the event actually done? ;)   is it online or can you do it offline? is there a time limit? do you have to have a certain amount of hours to do it?
Title: Wahoo
Post by: EHM-1821 Javier on October 18, 2006, 12:10:35 pm
you have to lock your plane on Propilot, you can do it online or offline, there is a time limit to complete each leg of the Event, no certain number of hours required ;D

Woooow, Bruno. That's something for me. Love flying such flights where the electronic hell is not obligatory and human brains are involved including the pilot's skills to fly good. And the best part: WINTER evenings are almost here!

Ben, no problems at all. I'll send you some snow, accompanied with cold wind, icy roads etc. It's up to you to decide: would you like to get all that winter goodies via e-mail or Msgr.? All tax free, of course!

a hot sunny christmas just doesnt have that special feel for me.... lol   christmas is a time of cold and hopefully snow and nothing but nice long periods of FS sitting beside a nice warm log fire ;D   ......... ( if i had a log fire!! ) but FS will do all on its own! :]

Ben, if so, I'll send you some Christmas pictures from Rangoon, since I'll travel there on Dec. 23rd for 16 days travel all arround Myanmar ( ex Burma ). But in general I agree a 100% with Brian!!! He made only one mistake: beside all the winter idila it counts a glass of good wine or something shorter, but stronger!
LOL.

ha ha yes indeed Peter..... how could i forget the most important part but may i suggest that instead of a glass of wine we go for a strong hot irish whiskey to warm the ol' cockles during the christmas cheer ;D

Seems I came back here just in time for the fun to start. A great summer break from everything including flight sim and a guy arrives back in the autumn to a new look forum, a new version of fs being released and more importantly, a new Pro Pilot event... how could life possibly get better ... Oh Hell ... gotta go ... got Jessica Simpson at the door :)

The world tour is a lot of fun, great sense of achievement after alnding at YSRN (arrival of the big class 7 flight from South America). I'd recommend it to anyone ;)

More on topic, I don't think there are going to be anymore clues, we're just going to have to wait and see!! ;D

Thank you. The new fleet is on its way. I turned to the final stages but do not want to hurry with release.

I guess that 777 is our Meljet model. It can hurt in fps to use highly detailed models for AI ;D

Also, the event will be released tomorrow! ;D

Hi mates,

The Event developing is almost completed. We expect to release it at any moment from now on.

Also, the event will start next 10th November with a mega fly-in for the first flight (ok, the first flight is complex, landing 100% visual on a grass runway :o ).

So, practise, practise, practise as soon as the event is deployed! You cannot crash your airplane!!!!

Also, the event will be the most difficult one due to the airplane weight for visual approaches, so you need to control it very good!
The event will have 13 legs, and it's related, as you already noticed, with UNHCR. More will come there.

We also want to capture your attention to one of the biggest problems in the world: The poverty and the food and water rarity that is on Africa.

So, I cannot say no more! ;D ... The event will be released very soon ;)

Regards,

I'm scared now, I can't honestly say that landing a four-engine aircraft (possibly fully loaded with cargo) on a grass runway is something I'm experienced with!! I'm sure it will be a lot of fun, though. Can't wait to get the rest of the information ;D;D;D;D;D;D

Well it's been released ! I guess the rest of you are asleep...;D

Congratulations to Bruno and the MT for this one - not only does it look like an interesting set of flights but it also makes us think about the serious problems of the Third World. Bravo!

I'm impressed with the Events page too, lots of information about the flights & destinations...

I've been practising with the existing MD-17, can't wait to test out the new one!

If a Antonov 225 or 124 can land on an ice runway, why cant a C-17 land on grass?;D

and you might want to change that to "loaded fully with food";)

can i book my plane here?:]

A little tip the egines of the MD-17 are possible to reverse when airborn, if braking for is need in air. Just like the DC-8.

I just found something (Thanks Matt;)), is it compulsury to fly at the allocated time? or is it just "for show"? or do we set the FS time to the given time?

some flights may be very early for some people while some very late. :%

Post by: EHM-0948 Bruno on November 04, 2006, 05:29:16 pm
Hi, that's the FS time, not the real time ;D ... It's just because of the visual landings, you need to "see" the runway ;D ...

Yes, I am getting all the emails from all of the pilots.

Wait for an answer from me... Tomorrow, after I load the airplanes, I will start answering them.

PS: Use the other forum topic that I made also for the next questions. This topic is closed from now on.
