Hi guys,
anybody of you know what kind of wine is it? Dry, sweet, etc... I need it for a special deer dish ;)
Amarone di Valpolicella
I found only Italian, Dutch and German topics about it, but neither language I know :P
Thank you in advance ;)

Which year? I do know a fair bit about wines :)
-
Well i found some info about it in Norwegian and it says that it's recomended to deer and other meat, aswell as chees.
That is all the help I can provide
-
Who knows... isn't it simply a brandname, or maybe a company name ?
-
Robert are you sure it is not "Amarone Della Valpolicella"
This is a dry red wine suited to heavy foods like stews and goulash etc. There is a sweat wine from the same area available called Recioto della Valpolicella which is more easy drinking and suited to less heavy dishes. The Amarone is more acidic so it may well be suited to Deer or Venison.
Valpolicella is the growing Region, actually a small town in Northern Italy. There are many wines available from this area but the Amarone is widely tipped as the best by those who know wine!
Hope it helps,

Thank you guys ! So generally it is a good dry, acidic wine.
I do not know a lot about Italian wines...I know much more from the Hungarian ones :P
I guessed the area Valpolicella, after I seen how the REAL parmezan, the Parmeggiana Reggiano is made. It is a nice "habit" in the language that the production region is always stored in the name. Well...this style is the same in Hungarian ;D ... oh those dishes and meals and ingredients ;D

Robert, I love drinking wine (of course I'm Italian ;D) but I really don't know anything about that Amarone della Valpolicella, I am sorry. If u want I can always help you with food and so many other things but I am not a wine expert ;)

I haven't had many wines but I LOVE Sangria... would any of our pilots know of any authentic recipes for this?
(Sorry guys, I don't mean to change the subject!:])
-
I love sangria too!!! I think that the original recipe is:
-red wine (it must be spanish :>)
-lemons oranges as many as you want and maybe lime
-sugar
-gin
-orange juice
-ginger ale
I usually have a basic one with only wine and orange juice + oranges and some gin ( not too much ;D)
Remember: Drink resposnibly and never drink while you are trying to land at Innsbruck!

Here in France they recommend a full red Bordeaux superior
