Hi guys,
Lately I´ve been experiencing some problems with the real weather feature of FS2004. Everytime I try to download it, appears an error message refering to the Internet connection. It is the first time that happens to me for such a long period of time, because the previous times this error lasted for about one minute or so... because a sudden disconnection. This also doesn´t happen to me when flying online in Ivao; the weather runs correctly. Does anyone know what can be the reason? Is it due to a problem in my system? How could I fix it? Is it possible that the reason is the server where it catches the weather info is no longer available?
Thanks in advice. ;)

Same here Jose - in another Forum someone said it's because of a massive power cut in Seattle which has affected Microsoft's servers due to severe storms but I'm not completely convinced that Microsoft aren't pulling the plug on FS9 weather to get us to buy FSX... ;)

I would advise you to fly online, thus getting real whether all the time. I would highly reccomend IVAO - being the most popular network for Europe.

Umm.. thanks for your reply.
They shouldn´t give a cold shoulder to the FS9 users as we still are the majority: I´ve heard of people who aren´t going to buy FSX as they aren´t going to buy a PC , so they are waiting for the next one. I´m not buying it at the moment, and so if Microsoft wants to keep its prestige they should fix ti instead of pressing users. :{
PS: Bythe way, does anybody know if this feature works in FSX? :%

@ Conrad: Yup you are right! ;) Although sometimes I can´t find enough time to prepare and do an online flight, that´s why I use the real weather of FS2004 :s

IF you can, try ActiveSky, that have also real weather, even in Online session.

Hi guys,
The strange thing is that last year at the same date (around 18th/19th of December) the real weather download didn't work too. It seems that this is something traditional. ;D
I suppose that it will work soon again.
Cheers

I don't know if it still around, but I can remember before I got ActiveSky and didn't have a internet connection at home. I used another program I think it was called Getweather. The great thing was it was free and it was a small program. So you could have it at you workstation at work and download the weather to a file and then load that file at home when you wanted to fly. And if you had a connection to the internet you would get weather updates just like with the real weather in the Flight sim. And you are not depending on if MS pulls the plug own their weather server or they are out for some reason

Jose, the only thing you have to do is to click on "You can download Lastest version of FSMetar from here"

@ Lukasz: Yeah I´ve already done that. :> I meant the ActiveSky and GetWeather. I´ve tested yours and works fine; thank you. ;)
