I now officially anounce this week as 747 week! My jumpseat ride in a 744 is today!!! I will post EXCLUSIVE KLM 744 cockpit shots here, including very, ultra rare shots of the jumpseat itself and the area behind it ;D Be sure to keep an eye on this topic if you are a 747 fan :P

I believe his uncle is a commander at a KLM 747.

I spoke with Guillermo today and he told me he had a great time on the flight deck. He'll fly back to the Netherlands next monday and then he'll provide us with some nice photographs. He already sent me a photo of the cockpit:

I got in a 757 cockpit during a flight from Newcastle to Grenoble and it was great. I honestly didn't realise how much there was to check before flight and in flight.
The french pilots are as made as the car drivers in Paris, bloody mental!!!!!
The landing was very bumpy aswell but cracking expeirence.
 Where is the flight to:o

actually i think it would be better for you to ask the pilot or flight attendant when you board the flight rather than emailing the management cause they would probably say no

Hi everyone!

I'm still in south america, but I'll be returning tomorrow! I'll upload every single picture I took during the week:P I'll try to get my hands on a DV cable as well so I can make a few .mpeg files of the landing and takeoffs;D

To anwser the question of how I got the jumpseat: my uncle is captain on the 744, so he gave me a free jumpseat ride :> Too bad he's going to fly the 743 again, Surinam Airways bought KLM's old 747-300 PH-BUW. The SLM 743 will begin it's operations on May 2.

Anyway, I gotta go pack my stuff for tomorrow.. I'll be back by Tuesday!

For your DV cable gizmo, if you have a fire wire port on your pc, a firewire a to B cable should do it i believe. however i may be wrong. my DV cam has a like doubled u shaped plug, dunno if thats firewire B.

I will ask when im on the plane.

I will get the DV cable this weekend, along with a USB calbe to transfer images to my pc because I forgot my USB cable in South America :|

Great, I got the DV cable but I don't have firewire :{ Does anyone know if I can get an adapter or something to make it fit into a USB port or something similair?

Havent the pilots go anything else to do that read a news paper.;D

I know it gets quite busy at sometimes (I think)

Im still young so and Im gonna try really hard at trying to be a pilot (im serious here), but I have a backup plan if that fails :%

Im 13 now, well cant get anywere to achiving it here. And my back up plan...:%lol. Get what I need for another decend job.

Avoid backup plans. They encourage you to duck from challenges that are there to make the dream more real when you finally achieve it.
My advice is have no backup plan and if you want it go and get it.:8
