Title: Certified Pilot Award Issue
Post by: EHM-0361 Karsten on December 26, 2006, 10:57:58 am
Hey guys,

Don't know if this is something the MT is aware of. If not I'm just going to drawer their attention to it. I think theres a problem with the award script. I don't know if it's gone on holiday, in that case it hope it flies EuroHolidays ;D.
No seriously, I think it has stopped handing out awards. I myself is waiting for a UK tour award, and I have done a spot check on a couple of other pilot. And found at least one other UK tour and Sweden. Of course I can't be sure if all their PiReps has been checked (in case they have been filed manually)
But I know that mine has been checked sometime on the 24th. So if the script still run once every 24 hours I should have had it by now. So when one of you script developers get a minute, do you mind having a look at it.

Same here guys.
For other awards though. (European etc.)

What the heck, the staff has sorted all the big issues, they can afford to let that one slip a few days.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hi Guys,

This could be something that was missed after the Hacker Attack. I am sure Maarten, Bruno or one of the Dev team will have it fixed when they get time, I think they are still suffering from Christmas lunch ;D

Cheers

My awards have also been updated, thanks a lot. I just have one question: as I finished the Capitols of Europe Tour wouldn't I get the Cobalt European Pilot award too?

Hi guys,

I'm glad the award engine is back in action but I'm still showing as Silver European - I've checked my flights and according to previous posts listing the 'acceptable' European countries counted, I'm over 40...

Could someone check for me at some point please?

Thanks and a very Happy New Year to you all !

The Cobalt European Pilot award has always been a bit tricky, and it sounds like it still is. My guess is it the old USSR republic that still make a mess of it
Title: Certified Pilot Award Issue
Post by: EHM-1465 Dominic on December 31, 2006, 08:32:30 pm
Yes, I saw previous posts suggesting that all 'U' prefixed countries only count as one and that the former East German 'ET' isn't counted separately either... But I still reckon I'm at or over 40 countries ;)

But I could be mistaken... ;D

hhhmm ...
I analysed the script and it is correct. You need to have 40 flights departing or arriving from 40 different european countries.
The ICAO country code 2-letter prefix must be contained in :
'EB','ED','EE','EF','EG','EH','EI','EK','EL','EN','EP','ES','ET','EV','EY','LA','LB','LC','LD','LE','LF','L G','LH','LI','LJ','LK','LL','LM','LO','LP','LQ','LR','LS','LT','LU','LV','LW','LY','LZ','BG','BI','UK','UL' ,'UM','UR','UU','UW'

So, I am going to check manually your flights in order to look at it.

Regards,
Bruno Falcão

I've been through the list again and I don't think there are any European countries left I can actually fly to on EHM (except maybe ET which is part of Germany and UR...) and my country list is at 43 now!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not so much bothered about getting the award as intrigued if there's another European country hiding out there with a cloaking device on..? Maybe Narnia or Middle Earth should be on the list..? ;D

Anyway, I'll wait for the answer... ;)

Hey Dom.... Don't be silly..... Every one knows Middle Earth is in New Zealand!!!! ;) Narnia on the other hand is on the other side of the wardrobe from Europe so can not be counted as European!

You have landed at Vatican international airport haven't you??? Oh and then there is San Marino and Monaco! hehehehe.....

You find the one you are locing for at: Lat: 64° N 7' 48" Long: 21° W 56' 26"

It's in region Bravo in the ICAO system.

Christian,

I assume you mean Reykjavik in Iceland? Although I've not flown to BIRK, I have been to BIKF just along the coast, so it isn't this one... And I've been to Greenland too, even after I saw the debate about geography vs constitution :P

And Phil, tempted though I am by the idea of trying to land within the confines of St Peter's Square in a 737, I'm not sure His Holiness the Pope would continue to use EuroBusiness afterwards...

Ho hum, better get back in the air to look for Neverneverland... ;D
Title: Certified Pilot Award Issue
Post by: EHM-1651 Christian on January 06, 2007, 09:28:48 pm
Well yes that was it, when you complete the European capitals tour you also should have  the Cobalt European Award so the countries you visit for the tour must be the ones needed for the award.

Dom: Try a flight out of BIRK and see what happens then???
Title: Certified Pilot Award Issue
Post by: EHM-1465 Dominic on January 08, 2007, 02:55:14 pm
My understanding is that it's all worked out on the ICAO country identifier so it shouldn't make any difference whether I go from BIRK or BIKF...

I am at a loss now as I've made a list of all the possible E***, L***, B*** and U*** codes that could exist and crossed off those that are actual countries (from info in my Pilot's Atlas) and cross referenced these against flights that exist on the EHM timetable...

And I can't identify which country or countries I'm missing! There obviously is one so I've even had a look at the flight records of some pilots who have the Cobalt European award but I still can't work out which one(s) it is/are.

All suggestions gratefully received... :P

Hey Dom,

I don't think you are missing any, haven't checked Getting the Cobalt European award is tricky. Earning it is easy, just fly the Capitals of Europe tour and you should get it. You have chosen to earn it in a another way. Like I said before I think it's the Uxxx that are the problem. I know that Bruno has tried many times to fix the problem but it still doesn't as it's suppose to. I know that it doesn't even work with the Capitals of Europe tour. EHM-1994 Michelle has gotten her Cobalt award yet either after ending the tour. Let give Bruno and the rest of the gang time for figure out the problem.

Oh well... :[

I guess the Awards Engine hates me! I still haven't got my Cobalt European and to add insult to injury, it's taken away my EuroCargo Special Missions Award !!! (On the roster page it's gone although it's still on my avatar to the left..??)

Was it something I said? ;D

Jojo

PP signifies that it was ProPilot event. These were special events that are held periodically like the Lisbon-Dakar Rallye event which has just finished. The next event will be announced in the coming few weeks!

Phil,

When I asked about the Cobalt European award before, I realised that the awards engine ran afresh as I go two e-mails awarding me the blue and silver versions (but not the Cobalt...) and at the same time I lost my UNHCR award and my EuroCargo missions award.

Still not sure what other countries to fly to for the Cobalt European...?
Title: Certified Pilot Award Issue

Well I have to admit Dom, it's a mystery to me but I think we can try and get to the bottom of it. I will speak to the B man (better known as Dady!) about it! ;)

It's fixed! Thanks Phil & Bruno - I've now got the Cobalt European and my UNHCR award's returned :P

I'll put my Atlas away now and stop looking for tiny European countries I hadn't visited ;D

This script has a strange behavior. Sometimes is all right othertimes are something missing.

I think that is missing to me the UNCHR and the Eurodivisions missions awards.

Hi,

I am checking the award script again ...

Because I lost control on this topic, I would like all the pilots that have award problems, send me an email with the following information:

- Email subject: "Award script problem. Pilot id: EHM-xxxx".

- Pilot id, and the award that you should have.

- If the award is an european countries one, please send me a list of all two letters prefix of all the europen countries that you visited.

I promise I will check every email personally, and will give answers to all emails.

Thanks, and sorry for the incovenience.

hmm, I recetly finished the EuroHoliday missions, and still no sign of a reward. It says on the page you have to request the award. Is it automatic, or do I have to request it?

Hello mates,

I just wanted to report an issue I have with my award, related to Certified Pilot. I made already over 16 EuroHarmony flights, but I'm still having the Blue Certified Pilot award, where I should be already Silver. Could you please let me know what is going wrong ?

Thank you in advance for your great help
