Hello All
I have been trying out the new fleet and for the most part barring one or two problems they are very nice. But i was wondering if there is any possibility of removing the virtual cockpits or perhaps a choice of downloads for people who like VCs and for people like me who dislike all VCs.The only views i really want are spot and 2D i find the VC to be on the whole an irritating thing that just slows you up when you need to make quick view changes especially in high frame rate areas, and also having to cycle through detailed VCs means usually that horrible scenery slow drawing by the time you have cycled through again to spot.
I believe its quite hard to remove them manually.
Anyway cheers
Andy

Easiest way to avoid displaying them is to press shift-S rather than S - this way the views are cycled through backwards.

Andy,
It's actually impossible to remove the VC from an aircraft model without redesigning the model code... Some aircraft (payware on the whole) are created with several models so you can use one with a VC or one without according to your preferences and system. But if an aircraft comes in one flavour and that includes a VC you can't remove it...
A suggestion however - if you really don't ever want to use the VC, you can remove all the panel instruments from displaying in the VC and then your frame rates will be higher - to do this open up the relevant aircraft folder within the FS9 folder, open the panel folder and then open the panel.cfg file with Notepad.
Within this you'll find when you scroll down towards the bottom, several windows with the header [VCockpit01], [VCockpit02] etc. If you delete all of these entries it will stop the VC instruments and textures displaying so you'll have a VC with no detail - this should save on frame rates BUT ONLY USE THIS IF YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO USE THE VC (and please make sure you back up the panel.cfg first!)

Hi Andy,
I am glad you like the fleet, although it is strange to hear that you do not like the VC. Never mind, we are all different ;D
At most planes, you can select either model with VC or non-VC. If you check the aircraft.cfg file, and at the beginning, in the [fltsim.X] section you see model=vc, then delete vc, and leave that line blank, as model=. Then save the file. By this, you simply eliminate the VC.
Later I will give you a complete list how to turn off VC. But I think all of the installers contain this information.

Thank you Guys.
I feel a bit guilty now for criticising the fleet.but it just goes to show how peoples tastes differ.
