Title: Meljet 747F1 - Banking Issues (?)
Post by: EHM-2029 Sotiris on May 07, 2007, 12:53:11 pm
Hello All,

a while ago I remember seeing a post about how to change the banking limits on the 747F Meljet model in order to be more realistic and practical.
Although I have no problems with the reduced banking the autopilot employs, I am wondering whether this change has been effected in the plane's files and whether this could be rectified just by downloading and re-installing the plane.
On the other hand, if this is not possible, can some point me to how I can tweak the aircraft's .cfg file back to normal?

(I tried searching but no luck)

Hi Sotiris,

I don't know whether the current download version has been altered (Robert will be able to clarify that) but it is a very simple change to complete manually:-

Open up the aircraft.cfg file with Notepad (or similar text editor), scroll down until you get to a section marked [autopilot]

Then scroll within this section to an entry marked:-

max_bank=25.000000

and change this number to 30.000000

Save the file and close it then load the aircraft in MSFS and your new bank angle limit will be in place ;)

Thanks to both of you for the clarification.
Some things are really simple but when tampering with .cfg I have learnt the hard way not to experiment.

Thanks guys.
