Title: Flight Logger with Windows Vista and/or FSX
Post by: EHM-1703 Philip on May 26, 2007, 02:18:36 am
Hi Guys,

After playing around a bit last night I got the Flogger working with Vista and FSX. Here is a few tips for people having trouble:

Runtime Error 70
Turn off USER ACCOUNT CONTROL - Go to the control panel, in the search box type in "user account control" without the quotes and you should see an option to "Turn User Account Control UAC on or off." Click this and then un-check the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer." This will reduce some of the built in security functions of Vista but it is the only workaround I have found thus far.

Runtime Error 13 or Runtime Error 9
You need to register a DLL. Click the start button and in the search box type:
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\EuroHarmony\Flight Logger ProPilot\MSBIND.DLL"
After this you should have a pop up box saying the DLL was registered succesfully. If this does not cure your problem try registering the following DLL:
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\EuroHarmony\Flight Logger ProPilot\msstdfmt.dll

Make sure you restart after performing any of the above tasks.

**** For now do not press the Read Airports Button under the preferences tab as this does not function correctly with FSX! ****

If anybody has any other workarounds or fixes, please feel free to post them here but please limit this topic to known fixes only as I will "Top" the thread.

Many thanks,

Thanks man. I just reinstalled Vista, and ALMOST got mad because I didn't get flogger working. But that regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\EuroHarmony\Flight Logger ProPilot\msstdfmt.dll" helped. God bless you! ;D

Hi all

At present I´m running both, FS9 and FSX on WinXP
can I use one FlightLogger installation, working with both?
Because when our JU52 will work on FSX, I will fly the event on it.

Kind regards

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

I only use FSX with Vista so I can support you directly but I did have FSX working on XP with FSUIPC4. Try it and see, let us know how you get on!

I'm using FSX with Windows XP but when i open flight logger it gives me an error saying "Cannot initialize data bindings". This error comes on before i have a chance to do anything. in the program. Then it gives me runtime error 9. Can someone help me out please?

Anybody found a solution for the runtime error 70, apart from the one mentioned above?

Howdy!

Just as an update from my original "introduce yourself" post I now have Flight Logger up and running with FSX Gold/WINXP.

I hate to be pedantic but you may wish to slightly modify the instruction from the top post (changes in bold):

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Runtime Error 13 or Runtime Error 9

You need to register a DLL as follows:

Click the Start button=============>Run:
Copy/Paste the following and hit OK:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\EuroHarmony\Flight Logger ProPilot\MSBIND.DLL"

After this you should have a pop up box saying the DLL was registered succesfully.

If this does not cure your problem try registering the following DLL:
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\EuroHarmony\Flight Logger ProPilot\msstdfmt.dll

Make sure you restart after performing any of the above tasks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Search is not the same as run! It's the former engineer coming out. Anyway...fix works and now I will show up missing approaches and being late in ACARS :].

thx

Hi Phil

I have followed your advice and it worked. However, I want it to work with FS2004 as well. I haven't tried because I'm having a problem downloading FSUIPC for FS2004. Do you think it will??

Lewis,

Phil isn't here any more sadly but if you stick to the instructions I have given in the other thread about this issue it should work fine. It's best just to stick to posting one issue in one thread really or things can get confusing ;)
